2015 Pro Days

I wanted him so badly in 2013. Was very upset that the Pats used a 7th on Steve Beauharnais instead of taking him, as he had ties to Jim Tomsula and was clearly going to sign with SF if not drafted.

The WR mentioned above is Dale Moss, who I badly wanted in 2012.

I hope your diamond hunting abilities are better than mine.

Those are great numbers but you can't really compare a two years starter with someone who had never played football in his life. By the by, Sokoli is Albanian - came to the US aged about 8.

Long snapper alert:

Of note during Brown's pro day was the work out of long snapper Courtland Clavette, who measured 6-3, 241 pounds and then ran a best 40 time of 4.71 seconds. He also completed 22 reps on the bench and looked good snapping the ball.

Six teams (Patriots, Dolphins, Redskins, Chiefs, Packers) were on hand, including the Minnesota Vikings, who sent special teams coach Mike Prefier. Many feel Clavette now ranks as one of the top two long snappers available in the 2015 NFL Draft.

@ Manxman , Tyrell Williams is looking like a STUD! Couple of the player profiles i looked up on him say he's 6'4/209 and 6'3/205 either way ,.. Would be awesome if we land that guy as a UDFA :). I found only one video and he is fast, route's look good, consistent effort to make blocks ( BB Loves That! ), in the video look strong/hard to take down, could be that deep threat we've been looking for since Moss ( NO, i am not saying he's gunna be the next MOSS! .. I think with maybe a year or two because of the division 2??... maybe 3??.. system he's played in @ Western Oregon University he'll need to learn the system, improve and build for the bigger/faster competition @ the pro level. I found this highlight reel WARNING MUSIC IS JUST BAD!! MUTE VOLUME :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=O1gvpnXtJpw

I saw that video. Really hard to take much from it because he looks so dominant at that level because of his athleticism. He just runs away from defenders all the time. The play in the snow where he's blocking and knocks two defenders to the ground is nice.

His combination of size and athleticism is really interesting. So far the Pats have taken a look at Dezmin Lewis, Darren Waller and Sammie Coates-all big athletic receivers. I've mentioned it elsewhere but BB looks at these type of guys every year going back to at least 2010. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this guy is brought to camp.

Shane Ray had a 7.7 3-cone today at his pro day

Shane Ray unofficial Pro Day: 6'2/249, 9" hands, 33" vert, 10' broad, 4.52 pro agility, 7.7 3-cone, 4.64 40, 1.65 10 yd

He was injured at the combine and I'm sure that has something to do with these disappointing numbers but this won't help a narrative that he's too stiff. Can see him falling out of the first round now and I'm not convinced he gets taken in the 2nd either; who wants a stiff undersized pass rusher? Now, personally I would - I love Ray's tape but I don't see him being a BB pick at all now.

Craig Mager at Iowa State. Doubt he does any of the drills because he had a really good combine but I'm interested to see if we have any contact with him.

PSU had their pro day last week. They have a notoriously fast track. Two kids turned in great performances. Adrian Amos 6'0 5/8" 218 ran a 4.37 and 4.40 forty. 21 reps at 225. He ran 4.56 at the combine. Played cb his first 3 years at PSU and moved to safety in 2014. Might make an ideal nickel back/slot corner for someone. We have Kyle Arrington so not much of a need.

The other was their big LT Donovan Smith. I thought he had a bit of a non-dominating. Don't want to call it disappointing season. He did have a knee issue in mid-season and got a concussion late in the Ohio St game and missed a couple of weeks. He's 6'5 7/8" 328 pounds. Ran a 4.98 and 5.03. Ran 5.27 at the combine. 35 5/8 arms and 10 3/8 hands. Hope Scar takes a look at him.

Both are very mature young men. Graduated in 3 1/2 years. Amos is a religious young man and Smith has a young child which matured him.

Yup. Saw more buzz about Smith being a second rounder after that pro day. I must admit I haven't watched his tape but based upon size, measurables and what others are saying, I'm getting comfortable with that idea. I presume we're talking about him for LG though.

Yeah, I see D. Smith as a LG.

Big week for a couple of my binkies this week. East Carolina is on Tuesday (Terry Williams) and Kansas on Wednesday (Cassius Sendish).

The Terry Williams fan club is either about to expand big time, or shrink by two.

Brando Scherff had a 32.5" VJ, a 4.41 shuttles and a 7.07 3-cone at his pro day. That's impressive.

It's being reported that Breshad Perriman ran in the 4.2s at his pro day. Have to think he might get bumped into the first round with that speed - he's been borderline for some anyway.

WR Breshad Perriman reportedly ran sub-4.3 40 at UCF's pro day. Stay tuned for official time. 28 teams represented, including Bill Belichick

I know Bill isn't usually scarce at Pro Days but it seems like he's been EVERYWHERE this year.

He tends to go to the Florida ones every year though.
