Pats Board Mock Draft thread

I'll say this, if Jones, Johnson, Collins, Clemmings, Fisher and Erving are all on the board at this point, I'd be thrilled. Now I know this might be an argument for trading back, I wouldn't personally, I'd draft Jones and be done with it but I could understand if it happened.

I might change my mind if I could be assured of getting one of those six and Ameer Abdullah.

I'd take Clemmings and then try to trade up from 64 for a CB.

If you could do that for Johnson then I would. I could be persuaded to do it for Collins but I've soured on the FSU guys and I don't think Rollins is athletic enough to be a #1 CB.

But, it just occurred to me, I'd take Jones and then trade up for whichever linemen fell. There's four linemen I really like there and only one corner. And then you can still have Cann and Jackson as backups. That's the less risky route.

Quite reasonable, but, ironically, I have a higher grade on Clemmings than anyone else left.

Nice dream: We'd get #37 from the Jets for tampering. Take Clemmings at 32 and one of Jones/Collins/Johnson at 37. Then hope a RB like Coleman/Ajayi/Johnson slips to 32. Trade up for Ali Marpet in the early 3rd, then add Marcus Hardison and Eric Rowe.

Well my grade on Clemmings hasn't changed although I've started to wonder how well he'd fit at LG. However, Jones and Fisher have moved past him marginally. I'd be fine with any of the three. If was to rank them:

Byron Jones

Kevin Johnson
Jake Fisher
TJ Clemmings

Cameron Erving

DJ Humphries
Jalen Collins

Admittedly, Johnson and Jones get a small boost because of need. It's easier to find a LG later than a #1 corner.

Jake Fisher gets a marginal edge over Clemmings because I think he'd make an easier transition to LG and because he has experience at LT.

I think Fleming is a boom or bust type prospect. He is flush with talent but is very raw.

I think we can take Austin shepoard of Alabama in he fifth round and have a left guard capable if staring from day 1 in 2016. In the meantime we need to resign Connelly.

I'd rather take someone earlier although I haven't studied Shepherd so I'll defer to you on that one. But Cann and Jackson in the 2nd, Marpet somewhere in the 3rd and Jamil Douglas would be my preferences if we couldn't trade up for Fisher or Erving in the 2nd.

Either there's an offer on the table for Connolly, or a trade for Mathis on the cards or they're targeting a LG early in the draft.

Y'all have officially made Byron Jones my binky FYI. First binky ever!!!

We keeping the party going and doing the 2nd round?

I think they leave the voting open for a while for the Pats picks. I think this petered out around the late third round last year, so yeah. :)

Sure we can do the 2nd!

With the 33rd pick The Titans select T.J. Clemmings - OT, Pittsburgh

Tampa Bay is on the clock!

Well in a real draft that breaks this way. I think the Pats trade down and take Fisher/Clemmings then trade up for a CB since they are falling in this mock.

If were moving on...... who did the Pats take?

I am with others who think this is the dream situation if the draft falls this way. I think we could go five different directions and not make a mistake.

With that said,

Jones
Erving
Fisher

That is nothing against Clemmings and other linemen, I just think like others we will get a guard elsewhere in the draft, who may not have the positional versatility of either Erving or Fisher. Jones is just a step up from some of the other corners with high character, and the UCONN connection is starting to look real.

With the 34th pick Buccaneers select DJ Humphries, LT Florida

Raiders are up.
