True story

I am in the store the other day and this guy starts talking football with me and asks a dead serious question "is this team ever going to repeat again?" I was a little surprised by his question but he continued on with its been like a decade since they went back to back. He was almost mad like they should of done it already.

We're on to 2015.

But the Patriots have not done what we in our infinite wisdom would have done. if only if Kraft wasn't so cheap, BB so egotistical and they played in a stadium with escalators the team might have a chance!

I just wanted to take a quick moment to remind you all that our beloved Patriots won the Super Bowl a mere 46 days ago. I haven't stopped enjoying that yet and it still hits me randomly and I think to myself: "**** yeah!"

Yeah, yeah, OK. Get back to me when we have legit wide receivers who can go deep. :confused:o_O

quit living in the past :) we are onto 2015

Well, I was in Basic Training for the Super Bowl (there's a story to that one too), but for me, I was living on Cloud 9 and couldn't wait to get here and see all the reactions from Pats fans. I'll admit it was a bit of a shock to come back and see so many people gone, and I'm still not sure on who all is gone and what not (Wilfork, Revis, Browner, more?), but it's a slight disappointment to see everyone focused on that...

We won the ****in' Super Bowl!

Whiners are gonna whine, nothing could dampen my spirits this off season.

What's amazing is that we won with all these distractions and Brady sick as a dog. That cold he had that was going around was not a minor thing. In the interview after he sounded horrible. Life threw a bunch of obstacles at TFB this year (losing Mankins surprisingly, at the start of the season), and he won the SB anyway. Love that guy.

I am still high from the Super Bowl. Good to get that 10 year longing out of the system.
That said, the off season is a fun time before the camps begin. We are lucky to be witnessing a master team builder at work. Next man up works only if you have a capable next man. It is fun to watch the chess moves within the confines of a rigid cap system. (I was one of the foolish early ones who thought that we should go with a 42 million dollar backfield for the next two years. Presently reality is that it is now a 16 million dollar secondary with one guy taking up more than half of that.)
This forum is a great reflection of opinions of all the Patriots fans - their angst, their view of various players, team building concepts and strategic systems. Great write ups by various contributors in various threads in this forum. Lots of disagreements. Nothing is more enjoyable than coming to this forum during office lunch hour.
It will interesting to witness what the final assemblage of this team will be.

How cool is this?

1) per the above, 10-year "wahhhh we can't win the big one anymore" streak out of system
2) per the other above, we're already not ranked #1 in power rankings, because woulda shoulda coulda combined with offseason
3) ergo... we'll go into 2015 w/a "respect" card to play, which just cracks me up

One of the best positions to be in is to be the reigning champion treated as an underdog. The Pats were in this position during phase one of their dynasty in 2001-2004. They were always an underdog to Manning The Great.

You think this offseason is bad? When Brady retires, I'm gonna go into the funeral business.

People around here act like this off season has set up back years...the only time we could be set back like that is when BRady is gone...THAT off season will be brutal...for me at least

Can't wait for "Is This the Worst Defending Super Bowl Champion Evah?" thread...
