OT: Patriots draft, pilot (?) of Cheers

Okay so I got up too early and watched the last episode of Cheers followed by the pilot of Cheers on some re-run channel.

First off, that was some funny ****! Actually the final episode was kind of shmaltzy, and the first episode had that typical "set up the characters" feel, but I've been watching these when I wake up too early... and all I can say is, I'd watch that show every week if it came on today.

But secondly... check out 5:10 or so. Also, 6:53.


All I could think of was this board in the off-season.

Now you can say what a load of useless rubbish, but OTOH last night I watched NFLN's "Top 10 Brady-Manning games" and what was #1?

You guessed it, the 2006 AFCCG.

So which one's the comedy, right?

I didn't have an issue with that being #1. It was a great game that we were on the losing end of. What I had issue with was they split it with each QB having 5 wins each in the top ten. That would be fine if the head to head was 8-8 but it's 11-5 for Brady. So you had to include all the Manning wins. The two that bothered me were the 05 and 06 regular season wins. The 05 win half the defense was missing and the Pats got slaughtered. It was an awful game. The 06 game was the worst game Brady has played vs Manning and it wasn't as close as the 27-20 score suggests. To put these two in they had to leave out opening night 04 which was a great game and included the liquored up kicker missing a FG at the end for the Pats 27-24 win and Willie sacked pumpkin head to push the FG back. Both QBs played very well in that game. They also had to leave out the 2010 31-28 game where Sander's late inception sealed the deal. The late rally by the Colts made for a tense tight game.

My wife and I had re-watched all 300 or so episodes off of Netflix over a multi-year period. It's a funny show, one of the best ever, and it is in Boston.

And u folks know the bull & finch looks nothing like Cheers...

Thx for that.(video). Great comedy, & flashbacks. but sam's voice seems to have morphed on the Internet from my memory somehow.

Yeah, I am not sure whether it's because it got deeper as the show went on or whether it's just terribly badly distorted

I've watched the Brady v Manning a couple times including last night and I'm almost positive that the Pats had the edge in games won 6-4.

I will agree that the Vanderjerk missed fg game should have made the list as well.

Update: Found the list online and the Pats did win more of the top 10 games 6-4.
