Can Easly play NT? I dont think he can and you certainly shouldn't be playing Jones or Sheard at 3-4 DE
It's essentially a 4-3 with Hightower, Jones, Easley, and Sheard as the front 4. It's similar to what Seattle does with Irvin and Bennett.

This can put spikes in coverage if you play a 4-3. That's not a good situation. If you're going to play a 4-3 with only 1 real DT you'd be better having nink as the other and sheard be the OLB and put Hightower at silb or wilb.

Sheard, Nink, Easley, Jones
Hightower, Mayo, Collins

Add branch to that mix on 1st and 2nd downs

Not to mention we spend a lot of time in nickel then the question is who do we take off the field to put spikes on.

He can be a a back up and short yardage player but not much more.

Honestly I don't want him back at all. In todays NFL you have to be able to cover both pass and run on all downs. Spikes on the field is a huge liability becasue his very limited speed and coverage ability, espeically when we mostly play a 4-2 defense.

If BB thinks he can help the team, then short term memory will ensue.....

Immaturity, ADHD or social media maven.. does not matter, if he can contribute to this team and wants to play here.

I would welcome him back, the guy can play football and I think that is what BB cares about. I think he realizes now that playing in the nfl now is different than playing in college and the league/bb frowns on frat boys.

I was hoping that BB was going to be able to hold on to Ayers as he offered more flexibilty but I would be fine with a return of Fletcher or Spikes

eh, roster is 90. I think he burned his bridges but I trust people who are actually in the locker room to know better than me there. If it is minimal (or minimal-ish :) ) I'd be OK with it as a fan. Oh, he is a hired gun, like Revis. Just the market for run stuffing LBs is not as good. /understatement

I wouldn't mind whatsoever if they brought him back. I hope they do, actually.

With Browner gone, he can help set the tone on D and give it an edge.
Idle wondering on my part: Can one have limited snaps and give "swagger*." (*"swagger," "attitude," or whatever we end up calling "it.")

The only problem with dating yourself is that you always get stuck with the bill.

hey..wait a minute...I'm no duck!

I think Spikes is the perfect example of bringing a guy in for their strengths and keeping them away from their weaknesses, Belichick gets the most out of those players and I think there is a real role for him on the many situation sub package they run. If he wants to be paid like a starter them pass, if he accepts the role sign him.

I enjoyed watching Spikes.

I was mad when he left.

Then he yapped and I was glad that he left.

I wouldn't mind seeing him back - maybe his time in the great white north gave him a bit more perspective on the league and on his role on a team.

In Bill I Trust on this one.

One thing for certain: when Spikes hits someone, they know they've been hit.

will we be getting Tania the radicalized bank robber?...or a subdued, more acquiescent Patty Hearst?
Patty Hearst heard the burst of Roland's Thompson gun and bought it...

Yeah but then she sold it for a French bulldog so she could show it in the Westminster dog show.

Pass on the second go round.

Except at patsfans.com, nowhere else does Brandon Spikes have any association with Zevon. Wow...
