CB Robert McClain signing with Pats; UConn alum was w/ Falcons last 3 years

Wow, it's as though Bill has realized his throwing draft corner back crap against the wall didn't work (wheatley, dowling, butler, etc) that now he's determined to sign every available garbage corner available. they've done this before with defensive ends back when Pats still played mostly a 3-4 and he needed big OLB so they'd sign and draft every crap free agent DE that he thought could play OLB in his vaunted system...wow this is depressing

I don't think this is depressing at all. We are going to need bodies for training camp and I would rather they take cheap players as competition rather than over spend for a big name (Chad Johnson). BB seems to be using FA to get depth and the draft will be used to continue to build the team. IMO..

Who's pimping up Fletcher/McClain? I would like to see exhibits of said pimping.

From this thread, what exactly is this comment(below) supposed to imply? To me, the mocking tone says any opinion other than your own that this is a good signing is unacceptable. It's right up there with RayRay's former tired act at JI.

Cue the wailing and gnashing of teeth.

It "implies" exactly what it says.

Where did I say this was a good signing? Your point would have merit were it not eminently possible to disagree with something without acting a fool about it.

Offense carried us last season, and the improved offense will carry us again in 2015. I doubt either of these two guys will make the 53 man roster. I'm not too worried.

didn't answer the question, coward

So anyone who disagrees is a fool, nice.

That doesn't mean Butler can't be a slot cornerback in the future.
The crazies are out today. Give it up, man. Butler probably isn't "just" a slot corner. Although he could be a slot guy if needed. Honestly, some of you people.

I see he's only 26... Hopefully a case of the Patriots seeing a guy with some talent who has just had a rough start to his career and thinking they may be able to coach him up.

So he is young and has a pulse. That is a good start. Not only some good coaches are needed but I think they need to hire some hypnotists. "You don't suck, you are good. You don't suck, you are good."

Sure, if you want to make things up out of whole cloth and attribute them to me, have it. If you want to read what was actually written and discuss it, that's fine too.

By the way, it takes a lot of stones to call me a coward for allegedly not answering a question when you didn't answer the question posed in my response.

Classic Kraft/Belichick - ponies instead of horses :D....spend 15M on 7 guys, pick the best one, cut the rest instead of 15M on one guy...it's worked, sort of, in the past, and has come home to roost in the playoffs/super bowl....i'm not thinking they go back to back with this strategy.
I think every fan on here would trade an incredible shot at a repeat this season with Revis, Browner, etc. for the resultant "cap jail" in 2 years....heck, it was FUN watching last year's team on defense and it was TORTURE watching the defense of 08-13 (sans the few games Talib was healthy)...

Which you still have not answered, it takes a lot of stones to try and deflect and pretend otherwise.

OK, let's break it down I guess. I asked:

1.) Who's (as in, which posters are) pimping up Fletcher/McClain?

followed by

2.) I would like to see exhibits of said pimping (this is a request for examples, obviously).

Hope that helps.

Butler replaced Arrington in the Super Bowl, in case you were watching.

That doesn't mean Butler can't be a slot cornerback in the future.

I think he can do both but he seems to me to be more of an outside guy moving forward. He did take over for Arrington but he was drag mid to deep a fair amount of that game not to mention others.
