Sign the Beast LV: sounds like Brandon Spikes is kissing up to Bill to come back

Because Hightower is a very good LB and should only line up at DE in an emergency.

“Third down, honestly, I’d — just to put it out there — I would much rather rush or blitz than cover — zone, man or whatever,” Hightower said Thursday at Gillette Stadium. “Third down is a fun down whether you’re covering or whatever you’re doing because you can do different kinds of things and come at the quarterback all kind of different ways. As long as I’m able to be on the field on third down, whatever they ask me to do, I’m more than willing to do it.”

For all you kids out there.

always end work relationships on a positive note.

This is why.

I'm sure it doesn't help his cause by any means, but BB doesn't seem to hold grudges. Ty Law and Logan Mankins both talk crap about BB and he re-signed Mankins and tried to bring back Law multiples times.

rather see dane fletcher return instead of spikes. he talked a lot of **** about his once he left!:D

..im surprised the colts havent given spikes a look. they can't stop a nose bleed to borrow that line from the great bart scott!

Spikes is not going to get on the good sides of Belichick by referring to him as the "hoodie"!!

In any case, the FRONT 7 is where it is at next season, and if Spikes fits in the making of a dominant part of the seven, lets get him.

Zero chance, not even sure why we are talking about this

will we be getting Tania the radicalized bank robber?...or a subdued, more acquiescent Patty Hearst?

As a depth signing? They already have Mayo,Collins,Hightower de/lb, Jones de/lb, Sheard de/lb, Nikovich de/lb. Not sure where he really fits. Nice run stuffer but that's about it. We've all seen him try to cover and it is not pretty to watch.

I liked Spikes as a Pat. I don't care what Spikes said and I don't think BB cares a whit about what Spikes said in parting. I do think BB cares how Spikes comported himself in the locker room but only BB knows that answer.

Liked the guy but I don't think he adds what we need to the 53 assuming all around LB health.

I'm ignoring the vicious rumors spread by Brady that Brady is faster.

The issue is assuming all-around LB health, Hightower likely won't be ready for TC if I remember what I read after his surgery correctly, who knows when he'll be fully recovered.

Mayo has missed 20 of a possible 37 games in the past 2 seasons. Will he be healthy enough, will he be the same player? Is he still reliable?

This leaves us with Collins as the only starting caliber LB fully healthy.

Spikes won't cost much and he brings an attitude and strong run stuffing ability. I'm on board.

Would welcome him back, especially since we now have a coverage LB in Collins. Spikes was a damn good run stuffer and had great intensity.

Wouldn't mind having him back, he is a force in the run game and would help fill the void left by Wilfork. In addition, we could use Hightower and Collins on the edge more often.

Just run a freakish front 7 -

LOLB - Hightower
LE - Sheard
DT - Easley
RE - Jones
ROLB - Collins
SILB - Spikes
WILB - Mayo

Ninkovich rotates in at LOLB, ROLB, LE, RE. Keeps them fresh.

No bigs all athletic LB and DL. Just constant confusion.

Honestly its likely that if he's cheap enough for the Pats to bring him back then he will sign with a team who he will be starting for.

Can Easly play NT? I dont think he can and you certainly shouldn't be playing Jones or Sheard at 3-4 DE

I wouldn't mind whatsoever if they brought him back. I hope they do, actually.

With Browner gone, he can help set the tone on D and give it an edge.
