How Have We Improved

So, you can't be bothered to engage in any constructive/interestingspeculation as to where the team might go from here, you just want to indulge your little fit. Ok.

OH MY GOD. i wrote this thread to vent. give generalized opinions about the state of the team. i wondered out loud, sort of, how we would improve at CB. nobody, until you, asked me what i wouldve done. i was attacked for stating my opinion, and asking questions. the mob attacked.

All of this is so f.cking comical. A few short months ago all anyone wanted was for Belichick to find the way to get just one more ring. Number four for Brady, Belichick and the Kraft's and they go into the history books and everyone will be happy, even if Belichick had to mortgage the future and screw upcoming seasons to do it. Just get one more before b the window closes for Brady they all said.................

Fast forward a few short months and they have number four in hand and it's back to Belichick.... WTF?????? How can be let Brady's window pass them by without getting NUMBER FIVE???????????????? WTF Belichick, PFF says he doesn't know his ass from his elbow?????????

LMFAO

Sometimes I look at a thread and think, goddamn, I'm gonna have to do a lot of posting to set the world right again. And then I see that Ivan has already taken up the mantle and I breathe easier knowing someone else has already got it handled.

for instance. if i had to choose between McCourty and Revis, i would choose Revis. But there's a problem. im not gonna kill the front office for losing revis when (1) i dont know what he was asking from us to come back and (2) i dont know if he would have come back even if we paid more.

so if i commented on either of those 2 points, i wouldve been attacked for ignoring the other. and thats not including an attack i would have received about the salary cap. i know we'd potentially lose players due to that, but im not a cap specialist, so i cant comment on that with great accuracy.

It's human nature. We've got 4 so now we want 5.

And I'm no exception, I want 5 soo badly. It would shut up all the haters for ever.

You don't get that maybe you could have defused a lot of that by moving the discussion on to what moves they COULD make, or what moves YOU would like to see them make? Instead of this constant back and forth about nothing?

I'm actually laughing my ass off right now.

I would venture to say my level of education is higher, but thats not a concern of mine. and the level i played at is most certainly higher than just about 99.999999% of everybody on this forum. but again, not a concern of mine.

Uh oh................... Another 99.99999 percenter. If you happen to run into Brady6 it will be like having multiple ************'s on the same floor of the psychiatric ward. I'm ************....... No you aren't I'm ************....... No I'm ************,.............

thats not what i wanted to do. so no. i was attacked and spent about 50 posts defending myself against words i never said.

again, taken out of context. but you are ivan the great. the drone patrol will surely answer the call

i understand there are a lot of posts and nobody would ever go through them all, but it really is unbelievable how many things i have said have been parsed and taken completely out of context. its unreal. and the mob mentality around here is out of control. some of you guys really need to take emotion out of what you write and go from there. itll suit you better. geez

I'm starting to feel like I should post subtitles explaining what others mean because quoting them is somehow taking them out of context.

ok. here are the facts. somebody told me you know more about building a football team than me. i said based on what. i played football. but that doesnt mean anything. that was the point. you cannot prove someone knows more about football, even if they played at a higher level. that was the point.

Holy crap. Fletcher and McLain, its Revis and Browner redux. Hope the Jets don't sign them away next March for 100 million.

I do not feel that we have improved as a team, but I do not think that we are that far below last year. We are returning a good number of players from the SB champs. I like the signing of Chandler and feel that will improve the O by giving Brady another big target down the seam.

I am pretty confident that Revis was not going to come back here regardless. I am also confident that BB and Patricia will be able to put our CB's in position to succeed. I think that the draft will bring quite a few pieces for continued dominance. Beef up the DL and OL and we will be in good shape.

Fletcher was put in a position to fail while in Philly, he is not a #1 man corner and McClain is a pretty decent slot CB that mirrors well and has good ball skills. We have won without having a stellar secondary and we will continue to win.

I just don't think the "top afc teams" have improved enough to overtake us...Broncos lost on offense/defense. and Colts basically equaled out.

if anything, our toughest opponents might be in the division. some tough defenses with the Jets, dolphins and Bills.

Okay everyone, let's get back on topic or this thread will either be locked, deleted or moved to the Practice Squad.

Thank You

I posted this comment in the other "I don't care, I can't stand it!" thread (Is this the worst FA period for the Pats in the last 10 years?), and received not one single response.

Perhaps I'll get a taker in this thread.

For those that believe the Patriots have not done a good job in the personnel department thus far in free agency, let me ask this:

Keeping within the harsh realities of the NFL's salary cap, what do you propose that the team should have done differently thus far?

If for example you suggest that the Patriots should have re-signed Revis, then use the contract he signed and keep your version of the 2015 Patriots cap-compliant.

At that point we can compare any of our versions of what the team should have been with the current one, and debate which roster is better.

I've never said I know anything more than anyone here I just post what i think and people can take it for what it is. When it comes to Belichick and the Patriots I think they have proven over and over and over again that they know exactly what they are doing, and whether I like or agree with the move I try to take that into consideration when I am commenting on it. I hate the way they handled Welker, made it very clear and had numerous arguments about it and then let it go when he signed with Denver. As it turned out I was dead wrong and Belichick actually had his real value right on the money. I wanted both Revis and Browner back, was bummed when Revis signed with the Jets but quickly realized that the Patriots has absolutely no chance because Woody Johnson was simply going to keep going up until the Patriots bowed out. The Browner release was puzzling but now it's really obvious they are going back to zone because they don't have the personnel to play man, so letting Browner go make sense. The problem now is that the market is way to high for the remaining CBs so they have to find other ways to address it. They have started by signing low cost vets, that's typical for Belichick but in no way means he will settle for sh.tty play from the secondary so my guess is he will keep working until it's fixed, like he does everything else. Had your posts been about what to do now this would have turned out different but in general venting threads never go well here.
