Sign the Beast LV: sounds like Brandon Spikes is kissing up to Bill to come back

Low salary with no guarantees would be a great pickup, if nothing else to cover for potential setbacks of Mayo and Hightower while they're rehabbing.

I'd love to see Spikes return (a bit more mature...) but not sure he'd have much of a role but if he's okay with that then sure. Was of the most clutch defenders we've had over the years. One things for sure, when you get hit by Brandon Spikes you stop right in your tracks.

Man, Buffalo must have been really bad. Last I heard, playing for the Pats was four years of slavery, amazing what a bit of context can do!

I guess I wouldn't hate seeing him back on a one-year veteran minimum deal with no guarantees, but any more than that and no thanks. He would be our fourth best linebacker, and he's utterly useless against the pass. Let someone else spend too much money on him.

He called his time with the Patriots as "4 years a slave". So I am confused, does he want to come back to NE and be a , you know?

I think if he saw the movie, "12 Years A Slave" his perspective would be slightly different. Idiot.

I really don't want him back. Good vs the run but hes not a fit really here anymore.

I wouldn't mind Spikes back for one main reason, his game time intensity and swagger that could help offset what we lost in Browner.....

Sure he's a one-trick pony and made some idiot remarks but he's damned good at that one trick;)

While spikes can play I am not a fan of any player who publicly badmouths the team and FO. Its just bad business and it dosent set a positive image for potential players who are thinking of coming here. The Pats lose out on players because of this crap.

I was actually thinking about this earlier today but I didn't think Spikes would consider it. I like the idea of Belichick bringing him back as a role player, he brings intensity and he's a banger. As far as Belichick goes he has a history of letting those kind of comments slide if he thinks the player can help them (e.g... Revis and Law). I hope they get this done.

I'm for it on the cheap as Spikes makes the front 7 better in certain situations.

He's desperate to continue his career, it sounds, if he's willing to continue it playing maybe 20 snaps a game at most and not making a lot it definitely doesn't hurt.
