How Have We Improved

I had a petulant agenda once...her name was Ruth...every Friday night she'd come home drunk and bark her name at the porcelein ...over and over...I think she married a bathroom fixtures magnate.

People keep saying we have no corners which is odd... we have corners, we just don't have Revis.

TIL that no Revis = no CBs

I'm curious how people would be reacting if we lost the divisional round against the Ravens.. that was pretty atrocious secondary play all the way around, and if not for the offense and more specifically Brady carrying them on his back, we'd have lost in the 1st round of the playoffs..

Can you imagine? We nearly went 1 and done because of poor defensive play.

A negative Nancy with a petulant agenda is a far more suspicious thing.

calling someone a nancy on a message board. thats what i call tough

we haven't improved, SB champs rarely do as they lose many players.
the offense will probably be better since gronk will be even stronger but the defense will be the classic vanilla bend but don't break masterpiece that we saw for previous years...

toms going to have score 35 which is possible since he's the GOAT

I will never understand why people dont realize this. Plus we came a hair away from losing the SB and the player that made the key play is still on the team.

Why cant people realize that football isnt about having shiny toys on the roster.

Calling someone a Negative Nancy is not the same thing as calling someone a Nancy. The former is a turn of phrase for a pessimist (usually with the connotation that he/she is an annoying one).

some people on this board are unbelievable. if you dare to say anything about the patriots front office it is blasphemy. you guys gotta chill out and learn to think independently, not go with the mob. geez

i agree with what you say, but thats when Brady was 35. how much longer can we expect him to play like hes been playing? in my opinion, i expect a decline at some point in the not so distant future, therefore, we cannot expect the same. we must make up for it on defense. which i believe we have not done.

Interesting though that the people who are calling you out for being a whiner know infinitely more about football than you. Apparently these posters learned to think independently a long time ago.

It seems you have it backwards. You are part of a mob of pink hat (supposed) pats fans who think that you know how to run a football team and have a right to freak out whenever a good player moves on.

It is you that are part of a joe 6 pack, "pats are cheap", "cant win without this", "nobody wants to come here", "we are screwed," "the season is over in march" mob of infantile simpletons.

They just signed Bradley Fletcher. That's an improvement.

Really? And here I thought all those great defensive players were going to help us. You know, the ones who have been playing lights out, who we would not have been able to keep if we signed one particular 30 year old player. You are really lost.

Ironically, you keep *****ing about the D not going to be good enough now, when this past playoffs they almost cost us the Ravens game and allowed Seattle to pull ahead. If not for the mastery of TB we would have lost - with YOUR D.

Actually " the mob" is on your side crying woe is me about next season's Patriots when they just won the Super Bowl and free agency is only a week old. The truth of the matter is that no team and no GM has figured out how to operate in a free agency system better than the Patriots and Belichick in particular, and it's nothing short of amazing that so many Patriot fans haven't realized by now that we go through essentially the same song and dance at the beginning of free agency every year. Free agency opens and their is a fast and furious flurry of desperate teams throwing huge money at players while gaining the praise of the talking heads as that years winners of free agency and the teams to beat that coming season. Meanwhile Belichick goes slowly along building next seasons team while having sh.t heaped on him by fans who wanted him to make the big moves for big money, and who bemoan losing the second week of March as though they had lost a playoff game. You would like to think that by now everyone would have figured out that the Patriots know what they are doing and will be in very good shape when all is said and done but it just never happens and instead we have to deal with the ritual shedding of years and hand wringing. I guess it sucks to be a Patriot fan in March and we will just have to settle for how good it is to be one in January and February, when the winners of the second week of March are sitting at home wondering what happened to their Super Teams.

OMG, I thought it was November 1, 2015, and we passed on the remaining FA signings and the draft and last minute pickups at the end of training camp. Then I woke up and realized it was March 18, 2015 and my best in the business GM was still working on putting a team together to get to the Super Bowl and win back to back years. How could this have happened to me? I know I was reading some of the posts in this forum saying it's over. My Bad

Broncos fans circa March 2014: Hahah **** yeah we're ALL IN BABY, SUPER BOWL CHAMPS GUARANTEED!

Broncos fans circa March 2015: WTF, why are we losing all of our best young players, this is BS.

But they managed to get off the field when they needed to. The Patriots defenses of old could never get the ball back in Brady's hands and that is why the Patriots lost in the playoffs or superbowl. Last year, they made stops.

They may have given up points, but at least they also got the offense possessions...2011 superbowl, patriots defense was on the field for 38 minutes.

The Patriots may have improved their pass rush a smidge, we will see....other than that they have gotten much worse in the secondary and run stopping has taken a small step back.

That said, I like what they have done on offense.

you couldnt be further from the truth. nowhere did i ever say anything even close to anything you wrote. dont put words in my mouth. i have repeatedly said i think at worst we are a 10-6 team. but you only choose to parse what people say and then create false conclusions based on part of what people say.

how am i a whiner? bc i asked how we have improved? is it crazy to want a good cornerback on our team? is it crazy to think out loud and ask how we have improved. bc i said i think we at least should get a decent cornerback.

you dont know what you are talking about.

i dont know anything about building a football team? based on what? you dont know anything about me. dont put words in my mouth, make crap up and then tell me the stuff that you made up about me means i dont know what im talking about. you criticize based on made up information.

FUNNY...how the mob is on my side, yet i am getting attacked. RIGHT. nice try payl

dont make generalizations about me based on me asking how we improved. and dont put me into a specific group. i look at everything independent of what anyone else says. i make my own impressions.

when have i whined?

i understand the concept of team building and the salary cap.

however, are you seeriously satisfied with our secondary in its current state? I asked how are we going to improve there? is that crazy to ask? are you kidding me

and sorry, but i dont have great faith in our Front Office selecting Cornerbacks. do you ?
