Dan Connolly Update

@RapSheet: #Patriots want him back. Seahawks (center), Bucs (guard), Bears (c), MIA (g) interested RT @Jmoneyschofield: @RapSheet where is Dan Connolly

I think it's important to have Connolly back -- versatile veteran, offensive captain. I want to see the OL return intact with promising rookies drafted high for quality depth.

What ever happened to the rumor on Patriots intested on trading for "Mathis" ?

my guess is Mathis is not welling to rework his contract that's the only reason why he is still in philly and the reason why they want to trade him

Ok. At this point in time, the OL has NOT gotten better.. Even getting back an older DanC, it has NOT gotten better..

Pickens are slim in FA, now. Only options are trade for someone or hope to pick some winners in the draft...

I was really hoping they upgrade that spot in FA. Connolly made about 4M last year and frankly was not worth it. I guess if you can't get someone really good in FA I'd like him back for continuity but it has to be on the right price.

He should not expect to get the same this year.

the good thing is it looks to be a deep Draft at G pats may end up with a day one starter at pick #32 or maybe even #64 but I would like them to bring back Connolly

He should retire.

I'm in the camp that would prefer to see Connelly return. I think something in the 2.5m dollar range with incentives taking it up to 3m would be appropriate and fair.

I also hope, and expect, to see #63 back for us.

I wouldn't mind drafting the Bryan Stork of offensive guards this year.

Your avatar agrees with this as well, my friend....:) I would also like this to happen....

Another soon-to-be 33 year old guards that BB might be thinking about phasing out.

I don't subscribe but FWIW, PFF ranked him as one of the worst FA guards in the market.

Some things you cannot measure accurately. The problem is that without him, the line was a mess.

His re-signing does not preclude the team from attempting to upgrade the spot.
