The #Chargers will pay WR Stevie Johnson $10.5M over three years, source said. He can get to $12M. He’ll be a big part of their offense

Lots of WRs want the ball on a constant basis..diva position. He will be going home and get a lot more touches then he would here. No surprise with his decision

WOW! Way more than I expected from either team. Johnson is coming off of two terrible years. I wonder how much of this is guaranteed. I was thinking both teams probably offered one-year deals with incentives and no more than $2M base.

accepts belichicks offer or take a hike.
its that simple.

Worth repeating.
Not that it will do any good because fans here will cite the one "prediction" they made that turned out right while forgetting their dozens of ludicrous tweets.

Have you thought maybe she is being fed these leaks from the agents in order to drive up the price for their clients. Team A hears he is likely to sign with a Team B so Team A raises their bid to make sure they get the player.

Just saying it could be happening.

Well... f**k

Anyways,

3.5 a year really isn't bad. I would have paid it. I dunno this whole situation is just disappointing all around.

They overpaid. They are very thin at WR.

In addition he will be targeted 100 times there and 1/2 that here which does not justify the contract.

Crabtree, Bowe and Moore would be my next targets.

For what the Chargers paid Johnson, they can have him.

No WR wants to sign with the Pats, they are all looking forward to playing against the Pats secondary!:D

Crabtree could be interesting, he has never had a real QB throwing him the ball. Bowe has the size, but his best days are behind him.

Crabtree is only 27. Definitely worth thinking about since his QB was garbage last year. With a proper one maybe his best years are in front of him.

The WR geeks are in full flower with Stevie Johnson, because they think all problems can be answered by getting another WR

Truer words have never been spoken. The solution to everything is more tall fantasy/Madden WR's. That'll sure up the interior lines and secondary. Forget about a pass catching RB, don't need him. Go 5 wide on every play and we can have Tom throw it 800 times for 6,000 yards and 64 TD's.;)

Why is Hooman " a hack?"

Every team needs depth and role players, the fact that he's not really a starting caliber player doesn't mean he sucks and the fact that he capably filled a number of roles for them means he is anything but a "hack." It's not fantasy football, real teams need guys like Hooman.
He's a blocking te that doesn't block all that well.

I want a pass catching RB too! But they are all going off the board really fast. The remaining choices are not exactly eye popping.

Yeah, Bowe and Crabtree are the only solid options.

I have no ****en clue why you people are lumping PatriotsSB** in the same category as NCBDiana or Erica Leigh or whatever.

He's not a media guy. He's not connected. He's just a goddamn twitter poster. I suspect that this is hard for the "get off of my lawn" crowd to grok but PatriotsSB** is literally no different from a poster on this board he just spams twitter instead of here.

I've never believed PatriotsSB49. His "Revis Who" comment simply clinched it.

Here come the lamentations from "The only solution is to sign a tall name WR" crowd when he signs with SD. On to the Crabtree and Bowe threads and then the flood of every tall WR we need to use our first pick on or trade up for in the draft.

I'm surprised how confident you guys sounds about our current WRs. The three starters consist of two injury prone slot WRs and a WR who is the epitome of mediocre. Is it the team's current biggest need? No, but obviously with the losses on defense the offense is gonna have to kick into gear at a much more consistent level this season. I'm not one to keep shrugging off offensive players we've whiffed on. If Gronk misses any time it's gonna get ugly real fast.

How is LaFell the "epitome of mediocre"? Also, Edelman isn't a slot receiver. Watching the games might help.

Uh, yes of course. Thus my point.

Want no part of Bowe or Moore. Wanted no part of Stevie's attitude. So this development doesn't bother me. I wouldn't have gone more than ~$2.5M for 1 year plus a team option for a second year. Wouldn't take Bowe at the minimum.

Wanted Cecil badly, I'll admit that.

Guys I'd go after next:
Crabtree
Jernigan
Jennings
and if $0 guaranteed money: Nate Washington, Vincent Brown, Jarrett Boykin
