Stevie Johnson likely to sign with Pats [3/17 update: signs w/ San Diego]

Oh stop changing history. They are only considered free agency winners last year because the moves they made brought a SB. But Denver was crowned the winners of Free Agency going into the season.

I had the Pats as FA winners though some particularly in the media felt Denver did better. I thought Talib/Ware/Ward were all overrated acquisitions for various reasons. A lot of people on this board considered them winners and everyone in the media at least thought even if not the #1 winner they vastly improved.

They did not improve this year so far. They declined and we have a right to not be happy to this point. I am still holding out judgment till the end but if I had to say now I think we will be worse this year compared to last.

Well if I were him I'd choose the Chargers. More likely to get more targets there and set up his next big contract. SD needs to replace all the targets they are losing with Royal and he will likely get those.

Hope I am wrong cause I do want him here.
Never underestimate the ego of a WR. I am sure he feels that no matter what team he goes to, he will be so great that he will get all the targets he wants.

lol, good thing you dont run the Pats. Are you happy with Butler over Revis too?

I'm happy with Butler +65 million dollars or so over the next 5 years vs. Revis. Well, not really happy, but it's better than the alternative.

No one has overtaken the pats....
As far as the AFC East, the gap has closed tremendously. As far as who we crushed in the AFCCG, the gap has closed tremendously. So, I think it'll come down to us, Indy and Denver in the AFC.

It is a gimme that the Patriot's draft choices will contribute little for the team in 2015.
?????????????????

This was tweeted after the Boston Bombings.

No it wasn't. The guy was f**king around, nothing more.

it had not hing to do with the Marathon Bombing, either causal or as a remark upon.

No offense to the East Coast, I'm alife long NY'er, but man, California is so much nicer than most of the East Coast. Better way of life, absolutely beautiful areas and weather. Just can't be beat. Can't wait until I move back. I think he signs with the Chargers for all of the above, plus he might have a larger more important role with the Chargers.

And there was a report that California only has one year's supply of water unless the rain situation improves.

If you don't handle de-hydration well Stevie, sign with the Pats.

It has only closed from a fantasy football mindset.

free agency be good enough to keep us ahead of the other teams in the division?

Brian Stork told me to say "hi."

We were free agency winners last year, and we won the SB.

This is true, but we got a sweetheart deal with Revis, and I think a great risk:reward deal with Browner. We got LaFell for half the cost of E. Sanders. They were good moves, and your point is well taken, but each of the deals were great value and weren't reaches.

I still think it comes down the Baltimore in the end. We will see though.

Nothing like the Revis deal has presented itself this year. We got him for one year on a bargain. The Jets had to allocate a regrettable amount of their cap to him for several years to come.

'We' can make excuses when 'our' opponents do the same things 'we've' done...

In the end, though, it all boils down to "Well, it's different, because it's not the Patriots".

Mayo
McCourty
Gronk
Hernandez
Collins
Hightower
Jones
Vollmer
Solder
Stork
Dobson (yes, as a rookie he contributed)
Logan Ryan (5 Ints as a rookie)

So yes, aside from all the examples in which you're wrong, you're totally right. And that's in the post 19-0 drafts (so the latter half of the dynasty). If you want to go back to the first half, you've got:

Mankins
Wilfork
Warren
Samuel
Wilson
Koppen
Graham
Branch
Seymour
Light

That's only DRAFTED rookies. Nevermind the UDFA they bring in, which always yields at least one surprise contributor per year.

Your right it was 2 weeks before the bombings. But the guy has major character issues. When a player has two 1000 yard seasons and get traded for a fourth round pick. Red flag. I think he f**ks around a little too much. Probably why he is still unsigned

Just because he is a big name left on the board. Does not mean we need the likes of him. Let's bring in Patriot type players. This kid is a punk.

This was tweeted after the Boston Bombings. I personally seen the affects of the bombings on a few of my friends. What ever happened to acquiring character type of players like Sheard.

Personally I hope while he was here for a visit. They lined up like in the movie airplane and all took a good a good pop at him.

That was posted before the bombings but don't let that stop you from being self-righteous.

Agreed, Randy Moss has no place on this team.

Before or after. Kid is a punk. Nobody is being self righteous. Just an opinion different than yours.
