I will never consider a WR from outside the organization a lock to overtake anyone who already has Brady's timing and trust. Seen that too many times.

200yds from your #3 WR in 2014 wont cut it in Todays NFL we have a bulls-eye on our backs in 2015 we are getting everybodys best. Even what could be called a poor year for Stevie Johnson still doubled Amendalo's numbers and Johnson wasn't playing with a GOAT! Stevie Johnson is a Beast we haven't had a WR of his caliber since Moss.

Amendola has Brady's trust. Doesn't matter how much talent Johnson has, if he doesn't earn that he's not beating out Amendola, period.

Been there. Done that.

Notice I said in the regular season AND the playoffs. We never did that in the playoffs.

Last year's offense had a vastly superior output in the postseason than the 2007 one. It averaged 36 PPG. The addition of Chandler, and possibly Johnson, and hopefully an upgrade of the Oline, will only make it better.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but he's younger than Amendola and Edelman and only three months older than LaFell. This is a classic low risk high upside move. Even Brandon Lloyd worked out OK for a year.

Not 100% sold in this possible signing. Think he is overrated and an idiot who runs his mouth off with immature ****. Basically ochostinko 2.0 with better potential.

I'm willing to give the guy a shot. Hes played hurt a ton. His mom died unexpectedly last year.
3 straight highly productive years. Did well vs Revis. Married. 3 kids. Seems to have had his ego put in check these past two seasons.

One year deal with incentives here is a win-win. He gets to rehab his stock and the team gets a 28 year old WR who has produced big time.

For all the talk about defense wins championship, it was the offense that carried us in this most recent three games to glory.

Sicilian when Dobson went down late last year and we Traded Kenbrell Thomkins... Amendola was in their by default we had nobody else. We won games last year inspite of Amendola glad he came alive in the playoffs which was about time based on his salary. New Offseason moving into new season Patriots aren't taking any chances.

True. And don't forget how it crushed some pretty good defenses during the regular season as well.

When looking at regular season games vs top 10 defenses + playoff games, the 2014 offense had higher PPG than the 2007 did in regular season games vs top 10 defenses + playoff games.

The team averaged 36ppg last year. 94 49ers ave 44.

Who cares about record setting in the playoffs as long as you win 3 games?

What I'm saying is that the offense in 2015 will challenge that 49ers team, and may even break the record.

I agree, setting records doesn't matter. Just saying that this offense will be even better than the offense that produced so well last season in the playoffs.

Will probably be a 1 year prove it deal with some incentives (or a 2 year deal which in actuality is just 1 year).

I'd say about 2M +1M in incentives.
SF offered 4 mill on a redo.

I completely disagree. Amendola filled in really well when Edelman went down for a few games as well, and to say he came alive in the playoffs is an understatement. Three touchdowns in three games, and I feel like every other catch he made was a crucial third down conversion. Without him, we don't beat the Ravens, never mind win the Super Bowl.

Also, 200 yards sounds bad but when you're the fifth option on offense it makes more sense. Edelman, LaFell, Gronk, and Vereen were all higher priority targets last year, and that wasn't because Amendola wasn't any good. It's because those positions are typically how the Patriots spread their targets in their offense (2 WR's, a TE, and a 3rd down back). The only downside to Amendola is he was overpaid relative to his role, but with his restructure that's less of a problem now.

Im not concerned about Johnsons comments.

Revis called BB a jerk and they mended fences and then went out and won a cup. The Pats locker room will have a huge influence on Johnson and how he conducts himself.

I wonder if Bill is thinking that to beat Seattle all you need is Brady + a good offense and doesn't need a top defense to stop Lynch + Wilson.

Just kidding but as a matter of fact, apart from Green Bay and maybe Eagles all the NFC contenders have their defenses as their strengths.

I don't care about his past comments, almost all WR are nut jobs to some extent. They're a weird group.

Chan Gailey's offense is a spread version of the Erhardt-Perkins offense; which is what ours is based off of also. Will he mind meld with Brady ? Who the hell knows, but he at least has had success in an offense that is from the same tree as ours.
