Good for him.

Being more dense is another way of saying that it weighs more (for the space consumed) which was the point being made as he was comparing size of Vince to the size of a friend. You are of course right that 10 pounds of x = 10 pounds of y.

The weight of both fat and muscle is also utterly dependent on proximity to another body with mass, such as the Earth. Of course, VW has his own gravity well; it might be that he did not so much tackle players, as they fell into him.

What is an ideal weight for wilfork football-wise? Or is infinitely larger better?

A:
Here are details on Cannon's weight bonus incentive
$30,000 for making weight on 4/15, $35,000 for making weight on 6/1 and $35,000 for making weight on 7/15)

350 pounds on the first date, 345 on the 2nd and 340 on the third

I would guess that Wilfork share some dates with Cannon.

He is around 50 pounds too heavy in my opinion after watching him this season. I am worried about him.

Vince needs to do some introspection and remember his comments years ago about the health of his Dad who died of diabetes. (Vince does lots for diabetes charities) Vince needs to lose weight now. If he can play down :) at 330 or so, play another year or two, otherwise cash out now. He should be able to market himself post-football in the NE area.

Huh? that's not what i'm saying at all. Vince is coming off a strong bounce back year and a super bowl ring. Knighton is overweight.

If Knighton is overweight, then what would you call Vince?

Vince is a borderline hall of famer. Pot Roast is a fat s@@t who had one good year. Is that simple enough for you?

Vince is not the same player he use to be. He use to be a great Player who needed to be double teamed & had a solid interior pressure on passing downs.

He is no longer that player & I am grateful Belichick does not pay for past performance.

Pot Roast has been a real good run stopper theast couple years.

You can't see that?

Who do you think will be better in 2015?

His best season was 2012 and he was noticeably slimmer in that season so I tend to agree.

Wilfork is a great guy who really epitomized (together with people like Brady and Edelman) why the Patriots can win year after year. He was highly skilled physically but at the same time he understood the nuances of the game: smart, good decisions under pressure, magnetic leader, with tremendous internal integrity and character. It's these elements of character and intelligence among their top players that set the Patriots apart from other teams. Every head coach can draft for size and speed, but BB is the only one who can consistently find or elicit great character and leadership in his players.

I understand we all get older and lose a step or two, but I think trying to replace Wilfork: not going to happen. Even if we find some guy as big and as fast, it won't be Wilfork and it won't be the Patriots.

So it's down to the us and the Ratbirds. Come home Vince.

He seems like a bad fit for the Ravens. They like faster penetrating DTs more than big space eaters. I know someone will bring up Terrence Cody but he evidence that big space eaters do not fit their system. He was a horrible draft choice.
