Kraft sheds a light on the negotiations which are different than the published media stories....?

Could be. When the NYJ guaranteed the whole $39m, thats when according to jason cole BB politely excused the Pats from negotiating any further.

It was hard to tell if Kraft was serious, as much of his speech was lighthearted, but he said, "The money was about the same. (Revis) was actually favoring us, coming to us a little cheaper." With tongue in cheek, he said the deal-breaker was Revis' demand that Castle Island -- located in Boston Harbor -- be re-named Revis Island. That got a lot of laughs from the crowd.

The deal breaker was Sean Gilbert, Revis' greedy nutcase uncle.

Some of the most disgusting comments I have ever seen in the ESPN article...seriously complaining that the Jets tampering charges are being mentioned (as if it didn't happen) and worst of all saying Kraft left his wife to die alone to work on the NFL Labor agreement...no words...I am disgusted to be living around these SCUMBAGS!!!

For anyone who doesn't feel like clicking on the link here's the transcript.
“Darrelle is a great player, and if I thought I could have gotten Darrelle for [what the Jets paid], I probably would’ve taken him,” Kraft said, via the Boston Herald. “And it was our best judgment to do what we did. Darrelle is a great player. I’d love for Darrelle to come back.”-Robert Kraft

I'm glad that Kraft has finally figured out how to hate the Jets as much as Bill. It took him long enough but between this and DeflateGate Kraft has seen the light.

There's noway this is a tampering though right? I think Kraft commented on Welker's past contract talks before too.

Yes, tampering for sure. Jets to get our 32nd pick ;) I've seen it all over their forum.

Kraft didn't say anything whatsoever, other than the negotiations were close, and even then no one really knows if he was joking, trying to save face, or telling the truth.

Did you catch this in the article......

Funny how the owners of the two teams like discussing Revis in public. When Woody Johnson did it in December, he got slapped with a tampering charge by the Patriots.)

The clown who wrote that is Rich Cimini - ESPN New York Jet Reporter.

Woody Johnson - Guilty of Texbook Tampering.
Bob Kraft - Guilty of telling a lame joke.

Only a Big Apple Arse Hole could not tell the difference !

You evidently were not a fans in the 1990's.

I mean I assume Kraft is smart enough not to say anything that can get him in trouble but I don't want any bull****ery from Goodell saying we've even lol.

Well I was born in 91 so yeah I was spared the bad years.
I finally went to my first Pats game in '91. Saw Hugh Millen throw a last second TD to Greg McMurtry to beat Warren Moon and the Houston Oilers. Man I am getting old.

Didn't Kraft say that AFTER Revis and the Jets had negotiated the 5 year contract?

Woody saying he'd love to have Revis when he knew Pats weren't gonna pay Revis $25M and could get in on negotiations are 2 different animals.....

I'd take a swap of 3rd rounders in a heartbeat.....

It was a joke. Move on.

Is forbidden to say how much you offered to a player?

He can tell how much money offered to Revis publicly if he so desired , and everyone can compare for monetary values , since these are public.

People who think this is news are the same who believe in conspiracy theory that our QB playing over 20 years paid or helped someone to sabotage balls, based on ''sources`` that nobody is obliged to say who are.

The deal has been completed and he is not expressing that wants to bring the player back . He is stating how much he offered in the negotiation ~ he just said were similar proposals; not even cited figures ~ and that this offer was declined by the athlete, obviously. It's not the same thing as a chairman of a rival team express the desire to hire the athlete and do everything for him to play in his team , while HE HAS A CONTRACT IN FORCE WITH ANOTHER TEAM...

What the poster above me does not understand is that the problem is not with 'Tampering', it is with joking about the Jets tampering while you have a complaint against them. Sadly, Kraft just got Woody Johnson off the hook.

Bob should have kept his mouth shut. Even though it was a clear joke, making the joke in public just watered down the Patriots complaint. The whiskey must have been flowing at that breakfast yesterday.

Goodell can now say - "What's your beef? You are joking about it in public". No draft pick comp.
