He's this season's Erica Leigh?
Good times. Good times.

Although for all the wrong reasons, her name is embedded in my brain. One day I will be 90 years old, my mind will be mush, and ill be throwing up baby food all over my loves ones, but I will not forget the name Erica Leigh. John Abraham has signed in New England! Going to talk to more sources!

This would be a great signing, but let's remember that the NYJ have the opportunity to match any offers that he may get.

It would also cost us a 2nd round pick. While I'm all for making an offer to Harrison, I'm not sure that it's very realistic.
I'm with you there is no way I would give a second for Harrison. He is a solid NT but if he proves anything it's that you can find a solid NT through UDFA.

I think you mean Keenan LEWIS, and crap reports seem true.

Welp, onto Jason McCourty...
Yes, Keenan Lewis--my bad.

Edit: I must have been thinking of the young WR instead.

I think there's an argument for parting with a 2nd for Harrison, but when you factor in the cost of both pick AND pact, one may assume that Belichick could probably do better with that kind of combination dangling around.

^this guy's a commie and he's spreading propaganda.

Kraft thinks it ok as it could help scout future Patriots from Cuba.

On pure talent alone, you would hope that a DT take with their 2nd round pick would become what Harrison is already. Add in the extra cash that they would have to spend and I can understand not biting.

If they are targeting a run stuffing DT in the draft, you hope that he will be as good as Harrison already is. The guy is a 6'4", 350+ lb beast. Save the money that some of you want to give Vince for the next two years and give it to this guy.

This will probably amount to nothing but I'll continue to play along for fun, as it has been a slow news day. His latest post says that Johnson is one of the players that he is talking about but that there is another player (free agent, not a trade) who is currently in Foxboro but hasn't officially signed. I assume that Johnson isn't the "big signing" (Shorts and Pierre Thomas also don't qualify as "big") so only the following free agents would seem to qualify as "big":

1. Hardy (seems very unlikely given off the field issues)
2. Clay (could they have been lurking this whole time? seems unlikely given addition of Chandler)
3. Damon Harrison (stealing young stud from Jets DL)

There has been this rumor mentioned last week if we are talking "BIG"

Ahtyba Rubin, NT, former Cleveland Browns. Sheard gave Pats the real story (bad ankle but still played hurt). Only 28 to be 29. Was considered one the the Leagues best run stuffers.

Watched Saints/Browns replay today. Rubin and Sheard both looked decent!

He'll be 29 at the start of camp.

If hes 100% healthy and can revert back to playing the way he did, Siliga, Banch and he make a nice rotation.

I'd still like to see them work hard to find the next Seymour though :p

Rubin & Branch @ DT with Easley/Ninkovich and Sheard/Jones @DE?

I like it.

With the potential to slide Hightower as a 4-3 DE and Easley as a DT in 3-4 as well.

I doubt Patriots would ever trade with the Jets...

Given that, I really believe that 1 or 2 trades will be done before and/or during the Draft...

A weak Secondary dictates a strong DL with a strong pass rush... ;)

@RapSheet: Former #Patriots DT Vince Wilfork is in Houston visiting the #Texans, source says. Familiarity with DC Romeo Crennel is key.

If he's not coming back really hope that's the place. Baltimore or Indy would be terrible.

@PatriotsSB49: @glencross_david @chrismeehan07 All but screamed Johnson's name and there is a second player in the building right now who has yet to sign.

Erika Leigh 2.0 putting it all on the line:D
