Thanks for the heads up, DB. I didn't see that. Still having a tough time with the website glitch stalling when I create a thread.
We like our 3rd down backs to be versatile. Lining up at times outside as a reciever. Do not think Thomas has those skill sets
No worries.. I think Ian will only give you 25 lashes with wet noodles instead of 50.. *LOL*
Have to disagree here. We did this because Vereen had that athleticism. Faulk rarely, if ever, lined up outside..

right, and doesn't fall down on first contact like many 3rd down backs doLynch lines up as a receiver at times. If McDaniels ask Thomas to do so, he will be more than capable of it. Thomas' ability to turn a screen into a first down is more than worth any lose of supposed versatility. The guy is one of the best in the league at bailing his QB out of pressure.
I'm not debating Thomas has been a better player over his career but he is 30 years old so his best years are behind him. I'm looking at developing White but using Bolden short term. White has the tools to be successful as a 3DRB in my opinion. He's got 122 catches for around 900 yards over the last two years, to go along with 770 rushing yards in that time frame - and had a 4.9 ypc last year.
when has Bolden ever shown any ability to approach that kind of production?
Woodhead flexed out more often than Vereen. Woodhead entered the NFL as a WR. Vereen was one of the more overrated players to wear a Patriots uniform in the past decade in my opinion:Reason for that was that Verren was a different cat from Faulk or Woodhead for that matter. Better straight line speed, not as much wiggle.

Yeah but we have to find a replacement for Vereen too.I have a feeling ....the draft holds the answer to Vareens replacement....
I'm a big fan of him, he has a wide running style very similar to Lynch, plus he can play all 3 downs. I would love to see him selected, or Tevin Coleman is another back I like.Thomas is too easy to spell. I for one can't wait until they draft Jay Ajayi so we have another running back whose name is constantly misspelled on this board.
In the preseason they used him a lot as a inside the tackles runner. As a receiver he showed very well in my opinion, as an inside the tackle runner I agree he was not a site to be seen.I was really rooting for White last year, knowing vereen would probably leave for bigger money. When he played in PS and very little during the season, I squinted and squinted and squinted and he still did not show any signs of having "it".
