Pretty cool article written by Justin Forsett. He really sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders, which is refreshing to see. I would have loved to see Pats pick this guy up, he has some low mileage from underuse early in his career. Just goes to show that there are a lot of undiscovered diamonds in the rough who just need a chance to shine.

I agree that there are plenty of undiscovered players who just haven't had their opportunity yet.

The Ravens signed Forsett to a very reasonable 3m dollar AAV pact, and should see good value from it.

That was a really nice piece by a good young man with his head on right. Wonder how long that will last in Baltimore.

He's also another example of why you can't just dismiss a guy because he got cut by a bad team. The Jaguars cut him, then signed Toby Gerhart to one of the bigger RB free agent deals. Ayers is also a good recent example of that. The "logic" goes that because Team A sucks, and Player A isn't good enough for them, then Player A must really really suck. It overlooks the fact that bad teams are often bad because they are terrible at evaluating players.

Thanks to Tampa, we had a steady stream of those guys recently. Blount, Talib, Revis, and Casillas were all abandoned by one of the worst teams in the league. We got Moss for a song from the terrible terrible Raiders. The Jaguars gave up on Forsett and cut Daryl Smith, and both became key players for the Ravens. The Bills gave up on Marshawn Lynch, while the Bucs didn't even bother to attempt to re-sign Michael Bennett, both players helping fuel Seattle's rise.

So you shouldn't overlook a guy just because a bad team does. That's part of what makes them bad.

Excellently written. This is a true role model. Not the millionaire wife beaters, drunk drivers, gangsters, drug abusers, sexual harassers and murderers. It is so difficult to impart a wholistic perspective in kids nowadays because media is always shoving the fantasy lives of millionaires down their throats.

It's not just bad teams and it's not getting a chance,it's about making a chance.

Very nice and mature.
I wish more players would express similar thoughts of appreciation.

Such a good story, even if it is from A Ratbird. Was a quiet fan of the guy this year, more than I would care to admit actually. Anyway he is a good start in getting rid of that filthy image that has clouded the organization so long.
