Ok, I get people who don't want Stevie here but it's like you're talking about getting him and a CB as if it is an either/or proposition. There's no Revis or Talib out there for us to pick up.

You improve your team however you are best able, we can't edit the FA rosters to add a CB like this is Madden....

If Dennard could get back to where he was, Dennard/Butler might not be horrible. Just really short...

Looks like the Vikings traded a 5th to Miami for Wallace + a 7th. That's not a bad deal if his contract wasn't so outrageous. I'm sort of shocked they found a trade partner.

I am hoping we use the CAP space and draft picks to get a high quality CB instead of a WR. FA, trade, draft or at the end of a barrel...I don't care.

Pats have a lot of cap space left and not many high priced FAs left. Should see a few more move over the next few days.

Absolutely. So many people don't seem to see that a rookie CB won't help us.

Hobbs, McCourty, Dennard and Butler would all disagree with you. Geno and Asante wouldn't be too far behind, either.

Don't take a CB with #32. Don't. Nor do you trade it. Choose DL or OL. BB's hits have been mostly on the lines in early rounds. Go there. Find CB help elsewhere.

Not nearly enough information to form any conclusions on that matter. Yes, NE has a great track record on the lines in the first, they also have a great track record overall in the first. You can be sure that if Bill was forced to select the same position early every year his hit rate would drop precipitously. Part of being successful is knowing when not to pick someone as much as it is when to do it.

CB is the biggest need on the team. If it stays that way and a good one is on the board come April 30th, you make the selection.

You people need to stop being afraid to draft a CB because of history,we won't get any better at the position if we don't try, as simple as that unless a trade happens because there is not much left in free agency.

While I agree there is no plug and play CB in the draft, they will be ready coming play off time much like Collins.

Like Building 19...lots of good stuff cheap left.

I agree 100%. You can't be afraid of selecting an early CB based off past history. We need a promising player to start. If we have a shot at an appealing corner back early...take him. Who knows? We could land a very good player at last and have him locked up for more than 1 or 2 years. It's a more pressing issue than our other needs.

Maybe they really are saving for next year, lots of contracts need attention.

Problem with that is this draft by all accounts is weak, still never know team could get lucky and select a gem.

LOL yes. I worked there in Hingham for a year while in high school.

I suspect 1-2 high quality DB's will be up for trade or released for CAP or conduct reasons within the next 6 months. We may have an option there if that's the case.

That would be really disappointing. Especially since Kraft explicitly said that he really wants to see the team in Super Bowl 50 because of how significant the event is in NFL history.

I don't buy it. Amendola's contract restructure saved them $2.5m this year but his hits go UP slightly the next two years... Why shove all the savings into this year if they weren't looking to spend it?

Since we are apparently not signing Bush, what is everyone's take on Ahmad Bradshaw? He is only 29, coming off of injury and should be cheap. Not only that be he is a better runner than Vereen but still a quality receiving back.

Was that the Building 19 1/2, 1/8, 1/4 or 3/4? :p

Pats will do what they do. Draft a couple. Sign a vet or two. See what sticks.

Dennard and Ryan are average. Don't know about Butler's ceiling. They need some above-average talent at the position that can play man. If the pass rush improves they should be ok.

He's made of glass but he is pretty talented IMO and still has a good amount of gas in the tank. I think he played really well for Indy, but they overworked him since Richardson sucked and they broke him.

Pierre Thomas is still out there correct? Good production. Good coaching. SB experience. Worth looking into?

If Reggie Bush walked out of here with no deal, we offered not much and he wants to look around. Happens all the time. We may be pretty much done in FA guys/gals, hate to say it. Thought we would have Bush by tonight. Not much out there that we need to push for at this time. Late off season moves/cuts after the draft and early season workouts is often when Pats make moves. It might get very quiet for us, and that's good, so I stop checking back every 5 seconds :D

Pierre Thomas feels like a quintessential Patriots signing. Not flashy or exciting, just cheap (probably), efficient and solid.
