Patriots 2015 Off-Seaon Free Agency Rumors

If they haul in Keenan Lewis or Tramon Williams, I would have to think this team is already better than the 2014 team that just won the super bowl.

Sheard
Chandler
Bush
S. Johnson
K. Lewis

No idea if affordable or not but I could live with that FA haul.

Think it is very doable.Pats are $12.3m under right now and that's with Sheard counting. Then there is stuff they can do to increase more space and then down the road when Mayo is well enough to pass a physical he can free up $5-6m.

I like the WRs we have. Pats need help at corner, defensive line, offensive line and running back. Don't get me wrong. Stevie Johnson is a nice player, but the Pats have bigger needs than wide receiver IMHO.
For one reason or another, Johnson gives Revis fits. For two games a year, if Johnson comes on a low cost deal, why not?

Ok, this guy had Stevie rumor news before everyone. He also posted this before the Lewis trade rumor was leaked by La Canfora.

Who is this? lol

Some of the people here's thought process on Free agency is a tad bizarre. We have three WR's and at this point the next guy on the depth chart in Tyms, bringing in S. Johnson is not in anyway an "issue" he would likely sign to a cheap deal anyway and with a decent amount of cap room now the Pats will be able to do that.

Think Lewis would only be a $3-3.5m cap hit for this year.

Is Steve Johnson really going to want to sit on the bench? That's his most likely location based on his production over the last few years. I see him as a TC cut ....... at the right price he's worth the flyer though.

No way. If Johnson learns the playbook, he'd surpass Amendola as the #3 WR. His last 2 years he was in bad situations, terrible Bills offense with EJ Manuel and that crap show 49ers last year with below-average passer Keapernick

Trade for a corner?

Get out of here. Revis is the best CB in the NFL. He is a hall of famer. Keenan who?

Although I don't know if I agree, I think he is talking about all the additions make this team better. Yes, Lewis and Williams would be a step down at least from Revis (I think Lewis and Williams may each be better than Browner), but if you add Sheard and Chandler along with maybe Bush and Johnson, the team overall may be better.

Just my 2 cents but I am all set with the offense at this point, most especially with TE Chandler now signed. What a score that is. Another rangy 6'7" TE with great hands. Love it. Maybe add Reggie Bush for the "air back" role he can still deliver big on.

To me right now, the target has to be CB Keenan Lewis who can play press or zone. PLEASE stop the Joe Haden dreaming, it's not happening.

I think the Joe Haden thing started by a fake Adam Schefter account. So I seriously doubt he is on the block in any way.

Tyms would be gone. Don't they play the same role?

Not a big S Jonson fan but he put up big numbers in his last 2 seasons in Buffalo with a poor catch %. Funny part is that Johnson caught 70% of his targets in SF.

Holy Moly!

I get it, Revis is the best corner in football. but there is no reason the T-E-A-M can't be better as a whole without him. You lose revis, but you improve other aspects of the squad to make up for it. The offense is going to be better than last year's with the addition of chandler and presumably reggie bush. The secondary won't be as good, but the front 7 with the addition of sheard is promising. All you have to do is add 2 competent players at CB to complete the equation. Revis is just one guy.

@nick_underhill: To the Patriots ppl in my mentions: If Keenan is being shopped, they aren't giving him away. NO has gotten good value in every trade so far.

I get what Underhill is saying. But all those other guys didn't openly want out of NO like Lewis does.
