Saints trade WR Kenny Stills to the Dolphins for LB Dannell Ellerbe and 3rd round pick

The #Dolphins are trading for WR Kenny Stills, giving back to the #Saints Dannell Ellerbe and a third round pick, source said.

AFC EAST is going after the Patriots! Patriots have a bulls eye on their back right now. They are coming for us. Your Move Patriots! Let's stomp these pretenders into the ground.

Seeing what Stills brought back to the Saints makes it easy to understand the Patriots not pulling the trigger on the guy.

Also, this thread should probably be merged into the already existing Kenny Stills thread, just below.

Have to assume Wallace is gone, since their skillsets are very similar.

Stills isn't very good. He played against some terrible defenses in that division.

The Dolphins made a salary dump, so it's a win for them anyway.

Yeah, the Patriots probably would have had to give up someone like Mayo. Not worth it.

Do not understand the Saints taking on the Ellerbe contract, unless they think there is a good chance he takes a pay cut...

Trade may open up cap room for Miami to keep Clay now. Otherwise, Clay is likely Buffalo bound.

Holy crap! A third rounder! What a steal by the Saints! Where did they draft Stills, he was a late rounder, right?

Lol, the Dolphins best coverage linebacker traded away. .. how do they plan on matching up against the Pats tight ends?

A Player made year two jump after his rookie season and you are saying he isn't very good...sure wish the Patriots have a young WR with Kenny Stills upside. The Dolphins have some serious Speed on the outsides.

The reason they are 'gunning for us' is because we have never tried to win March. The Patriots will build their team, and if history tells us anything they will build it better than just about anyone else.
Chasing big name transactions by teams that always fail with that method might be fun today, but it isn't a way to win.

Kenny Stills was part of a deep receiving core playing a lot of terrible defenses. He will not have that luxury in Miami. Those terrible, lazy routes he likes to run aren't going anywhere in Miami. New Orleans didn't part with him for the hell of it.
