If we add Bush I'd consider our offense upgraded, overall. Whatever dropoff there is from Vereen to Bush is made up by Chandler improving over Wright and Hooman.
If he can pick up the system and fully integrated by November, I'm thinking Bush will represent an upgrade over Vereen.

I certainly wouldn't mind Harvin--although I keep hearing about how he's going to be such a versatile weapon everywhere he goes, and I've yet to really see him live up to that yet--at least not since the days of MIN several yrs ago, anyway.

I'd rather have a strong, physical WR like Johnson, which would immediately improve our receiving corps 1-3 (plus Gronk).

This.

If Harvin was such a rare weapon/talent, then why has he been traded or cut by three different teams in his short career? Seahawks and Jets were desperate for offensive talent at the WR position and traded draft picks for him, yet they still wanted to move on after only 1 year.

Seahawks gave up a 1st rounder for him and then traded him for a bag of peanuts a year later.. and they have JAGs at the WR position.

I dunno.. to me it's obvious and sets off a million alarms to just stay away from that dude.. cause if the Seahawks and Jests want nothing to do with you after only a year, something is seriously wrong...

I'd be happy getting Bush and drafting a young WR and RB in the draft, our offense is set now once we have a reliable third down back.

@PatriotsSB49: Jets fans are going to love the next Patriots FA signing. Stay tuned...
Further hints were that it's an offensive player but not Harvin or Bush. Hmm.

I want Mathis. The guard position would immediately go form a position of concern to a position of strength.

so do i but i think that ship has sailed. idk i think chip keeps him.

Steve Johnson? The only guy to get the better of Revis multiple times that's still in the league.

Kendrick Ellis? Percy Harvin?

Was thinking Ellis too but doubt that it would get Jets fans that worked up. Maybe they are signing Harrison to an offer sheet??

Dwayne Bowe ?

Seriously, who is PatriotsSB49 and why are we listening? Is it someone with a proven track record or another one of uhh.. ..what's her name from the 2013 FA period who was wrong on every account.

Mathis + Bush and this is the best offense in the NFL (it already is pretty much). Blount would be a borderline probowl RB behind that OL.

Really hoping for Mathis.

This appears to be it. I know not everybody is sold on PatriotsSB49, but he's clearly going all-in here.

If this guy is right. It's a good pickup. I know people will say he lost something but let's look at his last 2 seasons

Rookie EJ Manuel and Colin Kaepernick.

It's probably Stevie (if this guy is to be trusted). Belichick signed Revis after he called him a jerk on live tv. I know Stevie Johnson is no Revis, but I'm sure they could bury the hatchet and Johnson could apologize.

Except his coach in NY last year looks like he's interested in bringing him to buffalo.

That's a fair point and the first time I've personally seen it.

Appears we've dropped out on Mathis, asking price probably too high or we're linked without real interest in the first place.

Tom E. Curran ‏@tomecurran 1m1 minute ago
ITEMS: Reggie Bush has visited Pats as @FieldYates reported. Scott Chandler still has to meet with team b4 done. Pats not in on E Mathis.

Or Curran is wrong, but he's been good lately.

As long as Mathis doesnt end up with the Dolphins I dont mind that much.
