Reiss thinking Bush will be a Patriot

Mike Reiss has been deadly accurate this off season and nailed Revis and Browner situation, Sheard and Amendola restructuring. Today he said this quote in chat leading many to believe that Bush will be a Patriot

The name I'm keeping on eye as the next domino to fall for the Patriots is RB Reggie Bush. Makes a lot of sense to potentially fill the significant Shane Vereen void. Great fit in this offense.

Whoever his source is has been feeding him some good info.

Mods: if you feel this belongs in one of the mega threads then by all means...

In this offense, and with a healthy Gronk and Jules, Bush could be lethal.

If so, hopefully the Bush we get is the guy from 2013 and not the impersonator who looked washed-up in 2014.

Can he play corner? (going to keep asking that until the pats sign or trade for an actual corner.)

Nothing to get excited about as Bush is not very good.

I think Bush has 1-2 good years left and could be had on the cheap.

Get him and Mathis (G) and the offense is in a very good place and better than it was at the end of last year.

Also these are good cost effective moves that don't stop you from improving the D.

I'd love Bush here. I think he is much more lethal after the catch than Vereen. Even if Vereen is probably quicker in option routes.

Is this what every thread is going to descend into now? Just people moaning about a player not being a CB or DT?

Yep. At least until they sign both.

This is an easy one for Reiss since on the surface the deal would make so much sense for both sides. For the Pats, Bush would give them a better runner than Vereen and a comparable receiver. The down sides are Bush's history with ball security and his age. For Bush, it's the usual. He gets to play with Brady, BB, and win,etc.... but only if he agrees to play for between $2-3MM/yr,

Bush, not only would be a more explosive 3rd down back, but someone who could take over as your starter if need be. Give him a $3MM signing bonus on a 3 year 8MM deal. That sounds right.

I don't really rate Bush.

I think a healthy Ridley, Blount, White, Gray, Bolden and Gaffney are more than good enough. If Gurley drops to 32 I'd take him, but otherwise I'm ok with our RB's

Yes, a RB and an vet OG is indeed all we need to be where we wer at the end of last year. Of course, we also .

I would also note that Belichick conquest o look at WR's. ThiS as it should be. we need the backup from the WR4 position.

This can go on at the same time as looking for defensive help.

So yor suggestion is for thE team to stop all other discussions other than with defensive linemen?
It's also important to ignore that the Pats beefed up the d-line a few hours ago and just continue to complain about moves made at other positions.

Except Pats offense needs a competent 3rd down/Receiving Back. Only White might fit that and that's a big if.

need a pass catcher...so important to our offense.
