Revis: "I'm happy to be home, I never wanted to leave!"

Revis the businessman = masterful
Revis the footballer = exceptional
Revis the teammate = greedy

The more I think about the situation the happier I am with the Patriots mode of business. What I am even more thankful for is Tom Brady and his willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team win. Money cannot buy what Tom Brady has.

I bet you not 1 player on the D side of the ball calls him greedy. By all accounts he was a perfect teammate and players loved him
Yeah, it's not like Revis has an established history of holding out for absurd numbers to the detriment of his teammates ability to access a greater slice of the pie. This isn't the MLB where everyone can get paid.

It comes to me as no surprise that the one year further into his career that Revis isn't at the top of the market, on a good team, he goes on to win a Super Bowl. Funny that.

It is true, I don't think he ever wanted to go to Tampa (he looked like he was going to throw up in his introductory presser). And as soon as Tampa cut him his first call was to the Jets. I think the only reason he came here was to show the Jets he could still ball and he was intrigued to put the shoe on the other foot.

At the end of the day everyone won, so why are so many people here still upset? Pats got their ring, Revis got back to the top dollar CB money he wanted.

Also, I think Belichick had an inkling it would go down like this. When that second year was tacked on to the contract last off season it must have showed him that Revis was hell bent on starting a bidding war for his services (or play for $20m). Which is why Belichick "politely declined" to get into that with him yesterday afternoon.

You say this like he hates the patriots and it will kill him to see that logo lol.

It was probably part of his 'master' plan. Go to a lowly team (Tampa Bay) after being cut by original team (New York), play mediocre despite getting paid a lot of money, get cut by that team to sign with a team (New England) that has a good chance to win the Super Bowl, play good enough to appear and win Super Bowl, demand a lot of money, become free agent, and return to original team.

He probably doesn't hate the Patriots as much as he use to. After all, he joined us and got what he wanted: A Super Bowl victory. But, still, that ring will not have the New York Jets logo stare at him. It'll have the New England Patriots logo stare at him.

If it were possible, I would love to have the Patriots be able to consistently sign the best player at his position for one year and then lose him the next year. Let's see for the 2015 season we rent Megatron, for 2016, J.J. Watt, ...

It is kinda funny.

Bucs pay $16 million for him in 2013.
Pats pay $12 million in 2014.
Jets pay $17 million in 2015.

Loved how he helped get number 4. Regardless I usually cheer for anyone on the Patriots roster.

The only ring Revis will sniff anytime soon is the one with the Patriots logo on it.

He is a Filthy jet now and he can gfh.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I'm pissed his contract had to be structured in such a way as to leave the Pats hanging with $5 million of dead money this year to make the princess happy. He had to "average" $16 million a year so Sherman couldn't troll him on Twitter? F**k, grow up.

his PC is making me sick

Revis: "A number of teams called...It was a no-brainer to come here to come to this organization...This is where my heart is." #nyj

I may be reading too much into his comments, but in the end I think part of the reason he left for NY was because he knew he was the star there. While he certainly received plenty of respect and admiration playing here, there is really only one star, Brady. I think in a way that bothered him. I could be reading it wrong, but that is how I read him comments.

Well, that happened. Okay, we're on to free agency, to steal others' phrasing.

Certainly makes for different options. Sad for that elite secondary to be de-fanged, but it's a bidniss.

Darrelle Revis is the face of the NFL, maybe all professional sports, in New York City. There's no one on the Giants or Jets with the same star power as Revis. Everybody is lined up with endorsement offers and media appearances. He has a cash machine at his disposal that isn't available here. My guess is that he'll make more money from endorsements in 2015 than he makes playing football.

Revis is making hay when the sun is shining. It won't be lost in all the exposure that he is a Super Bowl champion, and that championship came with the Patriots.

I wonder: when Revis retires and already has bought everything money can buy several times over, whether he'll look back and wish he'd stayed with the Patriots.

Tune - I stand corrected. You were right. Revis is a phucking whore. It's obvious $ means more to him than hoisting a banner and defending a championship. I guess I just didn't like hearing it when he hadn't officially left the Pats.

Come on, he just got 40 million in guaranteed money.

What in the world do you expect him to say?

Why are people taking this personally.

He did what he felt was best for him.

And jets fans will ALWAYS have to deal with the fact that the guy who might be the best jet player ever has ONLY 1 superbowl ring and it will have THE FLYING ELVIS ON IT!!!!

This is the funny part.

For Jets fans, it's like they are getting the love of their life back from their most bitter and hated rival after we "de-virginized" her.

Frankly, their excitement says a lot about why W Johnson would spend an entire Tuesday bidding against himself to get Revis back.............he has to placate an idiot fan base.

This pr

The :19 mark pretty much sums it up..
Thanks for the memories, don't let the door hit you on the way out.......

It Doesn't Matter! Revis/Agent did this deal one week before he signed back with Jets. Just waited to sign on dotted line. I beLIEve NY Columnist M.Mehta had numbers of contract like a week before as well.
Bottom line is Revis wanted to go back to Jets and Ironic thing about is he got more $ now then if Jets would have signed him last year and Here Come Hypocrite Jets Fans that burned his Jersey and now are Rollin Out Red Carpet.
GO PATS!

I have no problem with Revis going back to the Jets, that's his right and he doesn't owe the Patriots or Patriot fans anything imo. I appreciate his play last season and think he was a big part of their Super Bowl win and I'm grateful for that. I can understand why he loves NY and don't begrudge him that. I was disappointed he would rather lose for the Jets than win more rings in New England but that's the way it goes.

I am seriously pissed off that the Jets tampered repeatedly with Revis and think, the only sanction that would be meaningful is the Jets first round pick.
