What did I do to "go overboard?"

I'm tired of the two extremes on this forum. Both sides of the extreme suck ass. I'm just trying to speak football in a reasonable sense.

You said they significantly improved their team. I don't see it. They improved, but I don't know if what they added can be considered significantly improved.

I said he is the only one who doesn't. Cole is 33. Johnson is 34. Gore is 32. All are at the age where there is a good chance they could hit the age wall. In fact, Gore is actually living on borrowed time since he probably should have hit the age wall a year or two ago.

i hope their senior citizen team bulding falls apart. i cant stand that douche irsay.
plus, the indi media are all assholes.

Everytime an opposing team makes a nice deal then we all kill it. The afc is gonna be a battle. We gonna play alot of zone in 2015. You think the dolts dont know that.

If you can't make a point without accusing someone (for no good reason) of going overboard, not paying attention, and twisting your words, then you probably just can't make your point at all and should quit it.

Yes, I am aware of their ages. That's why I didn't mention them. I mentioned the under-30 guy who you said had age concerns.

Then what's the debate, or the need for response if you agree that Johnson is better?

I just pointed out that Wayne was pretty good for the first nine games of the season when you said he sucked last year. He was have a pretty good year and on pace for over 1,000 yards before he got injured mid season and fell apart.

Fair enough.

The difference in "significant improvements" and "some improvements" is a fine line that is based on opinion. As I said, we don't know who is right/wrong at this point in time (nor does it really matter). It's just a difference of opinions.

Look--I'm trying to be nice here.

My personal opinion is that they improved upon their front seven with Langford and Cole. They also retained their safety Mike Adams. On offense they added a viable RB and improved their receiving corps. To me, that signifies what may be perceived as "significant improvement," on a team that already was a viable contender.

Like I said before, I still think they have a lot of holes and aren't on the same par as we are, but yes--I think they've improved quite nicely.

Ok. That's understandable, and I agree.

Wayne had a fairly miserable last 2/3rds of the season (maybe 60%), but yes---you are right that he didn't start out too badly.

When did I accuse you of anything? I said I am not going to go overboard with my praise of their moves. I am talking about me.

I mentioned the age thing because all players they added but Langford are well past their prime (at least age-wise, maybe not production yet). I guess I should have been clearer in my post. I was in a previous post.

Personally, I consider a significant improvement when they address a big area(s) of need and make it an area(s) of strength. I don't know if the Colts did that. Maybe at RB. But Gore seems to be slowing down a bit.

I have no interest in andre johnson......it'll be much sadder than watching ocho cinqo no longer being able to play

They are completely different. AJ still has 2 good years and it's tough to find a physical WR like him

I understand what you're saying, but the Colts had no real running back whatsoever last year, so I see it as a significant improvement in their already good offense. They've improved in both their running game AND receiving game.

And let's stop with the Frank Gore "isn't good anymore" nonsense. He had 1106 yards last year, and had 1000 yards or more in 8/9 last seasons (one season he didn't was close).

He's had 1100 yds or more in every season but one since 2008.

On paper the dolts

No one knows if any team has improved itself until after the season has been played. Last year, adding Revis did improve the Patriots. In 2009, after the Redskins signed Albert Haynesworth to a huge contract, they were not improved. In 2012, the Bills signed Mario Williams and Mark Anderson, and ended up with the same 6-10 record they had the year before. At this stage, everything is speculation.

I consider Andre Johnson to be comparable to Anquan Boldin. A veteran physical/possession receiver, who still can make big plays down the field.

People here claimed the exact same thing when Boldin went to SF a couple of years ago.....and all he did was show significant improvements since then (seasons of 85 and 83 catches with both seasons 1000+ yds, compared to 57 and 65 in his last two seasons at BAL).

I agree, they have gotten one step closer to the promise land every year. This could be their year. It will be fun to watch them.

This is a joke right? No true Pats fan should ever say it will be fun watching the f****** colts.

I think the void between the Pats and Colts were vast this past year. They have closed the gap a bit, but I think the Pats are better.

I personally don't think the Colts were all that good last year. They just had a soft schedule. I don't think they had a lot of talent beyond Luck. Without him, they were a 5-6 win team. He carried that team. Their defense was awful. Their running game was non-existent. They really only had one good receiver past mid-season. They were lucky (again no pun intended) to face the Bengals and Broncos in the playoffs. I think the Steelers and Ravens would have crushed them.

I still don't know if the Colts win the AFC South this upcoming year. If the Texans can get decent play out of Mallet or Hoyer, they have a decent shot at taking the division.

Anyone who thinks Andre Johnson is worth $7m per for 3 seasons in the Pats system just doesn't get it at this point.

I'll take Dwayne Bowe at a fraction of that cost and watch him put up similar numbers to what Johnson would have.

Gore is one of those guys whose downfall I've been predicting for so long (probably 4+ years now) that I've just given up on it. Eventually, he'll hit the wall. I have no idea when it will happen.
