I just don't see how we benefit by bringing in a player who is an older Lafell? We already have Lafell!

Well looks like he'll finally win a game in Indy (Texans have never won there).

3 years/21 million

Still waiting to see how much is guaranteed. But that sounds like another Grigson homerun. Happy to see them waste money.

So just a bit less than Edelman and LaFell combined. Wasn't going to get that in New England.

I'm happy they keep spending money on old players when they're not anywhere near a championship level team. AFC sucked last year and their way to the AFCCG was a joke.

colts are signing a bunch of past it players.
the raiders did this last year. lol

afc is so weak right now.

They still will be in it, because the AFC is weak. They beat the Ravens, Bengals, Broncos last year, and they are all the better teams within the conference.

Pats, Broncos, Colts, Steelers/ravens/bengals, chargers are the contenders.

I like Johnson, but he seemed to be slowing down quite a bit last year. Improves the Colts' offense, but I don't know if it is as much as people think it is.

So he got 7 per say. Wonder whT harvin will get...

Of course they will, but the Pats showed last year that the Colts aren't a good team in the play offs. Their football style might be good for the regular season but in January it's a different matter. That's why I think the Steelers or Ravens (maybe not anymore with losing Smith and Ngata) are more of a threat.

I'd be more afraid of them if they'd start to actually spend on good D players and actually do something on their big weakness against the run. An aging RB/WR won't make them much better in the long haul so I simply don't see them as a big threat.

EDIT: Totally forgot about Cole Langford, because of this new FA thing that starts with the tampering period. Yeah they certainly got better ...

I don't believe that's necessarily true.

They've added both Kendell Langford and Trent Cole--two significant additions in the front seven. They also retained safety Mike Adams, and added Andre Johnson (to a receiving corps of TY Hilton, Donte Moncrief, and the 2 TEs).

The only "old" player they've added thus far has been RB Frank Gore, which automatically improves their running game and would've been a welcome addition had he come here instead of IND.

The bottom line is that the Colts definitely got better in a wide open AFC where they were in the championship game last season, even if they aren't quite "there" just yet.

Expect the soon-to-be 34-year-old to replace Reggie Wayne as the starter in two-wide sets opposite T.Y. Hilton, while sophomore Donte Moncrief takes over as the No. 3 receiver for outgoing free agent Hakeem Nicks.

I'm not sure I would call Andre Johnson exactly "young".

The Colts APPEAR a lot better as of right bow. You can deny it all you want.

Oh, please.....

The guy had 85 catches last season in what's considered a down season for him.

If you want to spin it as if the Colts haven't improved, be my guest.

Also, please stop taking my responses out of context. My thoughts were in response to his thoughts in general, which included both sentences about how they aren't contenders etc.

I think he would be perfect as the #3 WR and could come cheap I have a feeling AJ is going to get a lot more money then we think from the colts or some other team
The Colts deal I heard was 3 years 20 mil. No way do the Pats come close to that.

Langford and Cole are additions and improve their defense a bit, but I wouldn't say either are significant upgrades. Cole is a bit of a risk at the tender age of 33. Langford is decent, but more of a back up than a starter.

And I don't agree with you that the only old player they have added is Gore. Only Langford isn't well into his 30s. What I don't get is the Colts are risking a lot on players past their prime. Could pay off. Could be a major disaster. Cole is 33. Johnson is 34. Gore is 32.
