4.yrs ago we played NFCEast played/Giants Won SB.
This year we play NFCEast and NOT this time, REPEAT after me SB50 Champs!
Sorry Shane.
Funny you mention this! The Pats have made the SB every time we played the NFC East in the BB/Brady era!

Actually, you forgot when we beat the Panthers in the SB XXXVI in 03.

Bummer, but not unexpected. Best of luck to him, glad he got paid. Pats don't win SB49 without him.

Best of luck, Shane. Thanks for everything. Hope things work out for you.

Next man up.

Hate to see him go, but you gotta do what's right for you. Thanks for being huge in the bowl and getting Tom and Bill the 4th chip. Best of luck to him.

We will find someone else to fill the role, no problem, we may have that person. I will miss Vereen, best wishes to him.

I will miss him. Really like Vereen.

Thanks Shane for being a very good Patriot and helping us win a Super Bowl!!!!

Ditto ... really enjoyed watching him live ... was way better than on TV.

if Vereen could shake off a tackle he'd be elite. As is, he's still a very good player, but he plays a deep position. the running game will be very interesting this preseason. I'll always be grateful for his play in SB49

Can't agree with you there. He was a fine player, but not remotely irreplaceable.

Maybe, but the contract which he signed was fairly reasonable. Unless the FO signs somebody like
Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, CJ Spiller or Jaquizz Rogers, then we will be hoping that the over-drafted
Jimmy White or the unknown Tyler Gaffney is the answer.
I don't want to see another draft pick wasted on a RB, because Bill now has to add CB to the draft list.

I posted in another thread Spiller turned down 4.5 from the Bills they were reporting here locally in western NY late last week so not sure what our options are exactly for our budget. To be fair I think that relationship is strained anyway.

Maybe, but the contract which he signed was fairly reasonable.

Didn't seem that reasonable for a back who only ran for 391 yards in 2014. I thought, overall, the running game on passing downs (Vereen's plays) wasn't a strength for the Pats last year.

I don't think Vereen had set himself apart as the kind of exceptional player who gets a big second contract.

I wish Vereen all of the luck. He got guaranteed money and for a rb you kind of have to take it, because they just don't last long. I wish he was back, but as tough as it is to say, he's replaceable.

Wow; didn't know about the Helu deal when I posted earlier. That amount could've very, very easily
have fit into the Pats' budget.
