the Talib trade came out of nowhere. And I refuse to believe belichick will have our starting corners be dennard/logan ryan/butler/arrington on opening day.

Theres a total dumpster fire going on in New Orleans. can we get their CB?

I sure hope they have a backup plan to make up for the losses over the last few days. I know that BB and Kraft have a plan and stick to it. I appreciate their foresight around the organization beyond this season, BUT knowing that the time to win is NOW with Brady, I hope they feel a sense of urgency to 'somewhat' mortgage the future in order to win now.

kind of sick of hearing they must have a back up plan..you can't replace a guy like Revis. Brady has a few years left, why not try to field the best team possible and go for it while the window is still open? Maybe Revis just wanted to go back to NY..that would lesson the sting I guess.

Don't sell short on Malcom Butler. What more do you want to see to know he can play in the NFL at a high level?

Would be nice to have Browner back. Browner and Butler starting, with an early draft pick at CB. That isn't going to replace Revis, but it may be good enough to defend the SB crown. Key will be if the rest of the team can pick up some of the slack. Singing an elite TE and/or WR would help a lot.

I have been saying this to friends for a couple days as I did not believe we would end up with Revis or Browner. There is a mega trade happening soon. I just hop it does not involve...../gasp.......Brady.

Something big is going to happen this offseason. It has to, they have too much money to spend and a league mandate to spend it all.

They probably have a backup plan, but backup plans aren't always good enough. Caldwell, Gabriel, and Jackson were the backup plan when Givens left and Branch shot his way out of town in 2006. It ended up being a mess. They can certainly succeed with the corners they have, but only if the pass rush improves considerably. The weight of the world is on the shoulders of Chandler Jones and Dominique Easley right now, and that makes me uncomfortable.

Yes, Belichick has something up his sleeve. I think he anticipated this happening.

2006 was definitely a miss, but the situation was slightly different. Branch shot his way out late in the offseason if I'm not mistaken, leaving them very little time to enact a backup plan. Hopefully they've got enough time now to adjust.

Ummm, didn't the guy just win something less than 2 months ago. After that last win, I'm STILL ecstatic and content, and somewhat drained. So I'm pretty much giving the team a pass for next year, even if we need to rebuild on the run.

Would u guys trade jimmy G and a pick for joe haden?

Jimmy g could be trade bait a top cb

I do feel they'll make a trade for something. Or maybe BB wants to build through the draft. Either way, I'm fine. Yes, it would have been nice to have Revis back but I wasn't counting on it.

A trade/swap of 1st round picks with the Jets is what I feel coming

edit: Never mind, I forgot the commissioner is a joke and nothing will happen despite the most blatant, advantageous act of tampering in league history

Screw that. No passes here and I'm sure BB wouldn't want one. Who isn't psyched about winning the Superbowl, but I want to avoid the period of "rebuilding" as you call it. Tom Brady is the GOAT still playing at a high level at the age of 38. I believe the time to strike the iron and try to win one more is now. You can buy into that "happy, feely we won" mindset, but the rest of the NFL isn't because the time to address weaknesses is now and in the draft. I still have all the faith in BB even though I disagree with letting Browner walk and not giving Revis a huge contract that may have binded them a bit for three years in other areas because he was a KEY ingredient to winning another SB. Just my .02 cents.

Why would any team give up their #1 corner to the pats?

Maybe BB will try and grab some pass rushers or switch to a zone defense. The fact is beside last year the the secondary has been bad for almost 10 seasons. I truly believe BB has no issue at all rolling with dennard/logan ryan/butler/arrington for next season.

No you don't trade a possible franchise QB for anything .

Garappolo has a better chance at being Mallett 2.0 than a franchise QB

And there's a solid chance Brady remains playing QB at a high enough level to the point where Garappolo's rookie contract is expired and leaves

It would appear cheesy on the surface, but what about trading for J. McCourty?
