Schefter just wrote that Revis will be the highest paid CB in NFL history. Sounds like he will top his before $16M a year. Probably with the $40M in guarantees that where rumored before.

No one expected otherwise did they? Jets were not going to be outbidded by the patriots because the Patriots are never going to overpay for anybody. Patriots have zero corners that are decent right now.

Its going to be fun to go back to the days when even the worst quarterbacks in the league are going to put up huge numbers.

Thank God this saga has come to an end! In Bill we trust! I'm not too bummed about Revis leaving. Hopefully Browner returns! We should be able to accomplish a lot of things this offseason without this cloud hanging over our heads!

Without a #1 corner opposite it is likely the Pats felt they couldn't give Browner the safety help he needed to be effective. So the prudent move was to decline the option with Revis unsigned rather than possibly wind up with a $5 million red zone corner.
