Schefter said Moss agreed to dramatically reduce his salary to make the deal happen. He also said that Kraft and Brady signed off on this deal before it was made.

Couple of thoughts.

Firstly, all the stuff I wanted to hear is in Schefter's story - the orange light, taking less, etc etc.

Secondly, now all the people who talk of Brady not being supported with weapons can be pacified. But this will issue in a new (in some degree justified) generation of people worried about Moss just not being a Patriots type of player. And then there will be the people who will suggest we will have "the most dynamic offense the league has ever seen" etc etc.

I'm not sure what I think about the pickup. I hope Doug Gabriel's experience here will have shown him that it's a tight ship, though no doubt the players are significantly different. And you have to feel sorry for all those wideouts fighting for their place...

Probably the biggest reason why they traded 28. Two 1st rounders plus Moss is too expensive. So trade one to next year and then get Moss. Makes sense. I'm cautiously excited.

this is the 2nd deal with the raiders in last 1 yr .We gave a fifth for gabriel who went back to oak and now this. Iam hoping sincerly that this turns out better.

Wow, i think we are all noticing this at the same time.

I wonder if this settles those that couldn't see a positive in yesterday's moves.

Sure, they still could use LB or DB help, but do we have any question that they are serious about making this a better team? This will spread the field a ton. You can keep Watson in blocking a bit more, and I'm sure this opens up the short intermediate routes for the Jaffney and Welker types. The field is definitely going to be difficult for other teams to cover.

I can recall tons of board posters *****ing about not spending money during last season, only to understand things when we made the Thomas, Stallworth, and Welker moves. Yesterday seemed like people were ready to jump off the Tobin...would Moss - a solid set of LB's and a backup to protect the RB spot make you all happy again?

Just my thoughts for today.

This definitely makes up for yesterday. I have been waiting to see what Brady could do with a WR as talented as Randy Moss. If this trade actually happens and Moss plays with a little passion...WOW what a fun season this will be!!!
