Honestly, I was/am hoping that BB got new religion about having top corners in the new NFL. I think most of the posters in this forum did.

And I look back on not signing Asante Samuel as the old way of thinking.
I was and am hoping he gets this deal done somehow given it's importance.

That said, in bill we trust

This is the sort of situation that's been building with the way owners have been treating players who finally get big contracts. Veterans are going to be demanding more and more of their deals being guaranteed, because they've seen too many of their fellow players get hosed with back ends that aren't seen, forced re-structures and the like.

Maybe it's time to go the way of the NBA. With large guarantees and max contracts. Anyone with a brain knows nfl contracts are hardly worth the paper they're printed on. Sure the massive deals make good headlines, but it's all just smoke

FYI, when you give contract guarantees you have to put up that money at signing. The Phins just out up 60 million for SUH.

It might simply be Kraft doesn't have 40 million in liquid funds available.

This sounds like it's Revis giving the Patriots a chance, and the Patriots not jumping up from $35m to $40m. If (and this is just what we're hearing) they lose Revis over $5m guaranteed, they deserve to be skewered.

Lol I highly doubt arrangements weren't already made for this

I understand the non-guaranteed deals. The problem comes with what we've seen more and more in recent years, which is teams abusing the system.

Look at the QBs we faced in 2011 and how many points they put up against us.

Look at the QBs in 2015

Cassel 2x
Tannenhill 2x
Smith or Mariota 2x
Bortles
Mettenburger
Bradford
Griffin

Pay the beast. Revis edition.

Give him 39 M guarenteed over 3 years. 13m per year with 2M on top per year. What is wrong with that?

Lol we made the SB with Sterling Moore and Antwaun Molden as our CBs.
Don't forget Edelman. Or our wonderful safeties, Ihedigbo and Sergio 'thrown out the club' Brown

What's Troy Brown doing these days?
