The nfl is a business and everyone will look out for themselves at the end of the day. I will never blame a player for getting as much money as possible.

Teams will force you to restructure/trade you to nfl Siberia/ or cut you at a moments notice

I don't know if the Pats don't think Revis is worth the guaranteed money, as much as they are afraid to set that kind of precedent.

Bingo. It is against the philosophy of this organization to hand out guarantees without a way out. I am not saying that I agree with that in this case but I certainly hope they can come to some kind of compromise.

Yeah I questioned his manhood? I questioned his motivation for some its money for some its winning for slightly less money (Brady). If you think it was questioning his manhood that's on you.

Did anyone say he wasn't a top CB? Nah.. Did anyone say he shouldn't make top CB money? Nope.

I think you have some reading comprehension issues to work on.
You are denigrating him as "Mevis". There is no reading comprehension problem. You are speaking out your @ss.
I'm sure you give up many dollars per hour so you can be a champion at pizza delivery.

Revis doesnt land in your lap every year does it.....

Actually the situation is eirely similar to the Ty Law situation.

Bill makes the hard decisions not because he is a badass, but because he has the best interest of the team at the forefront of every move he makes.

Revis is worth that money. I doubt his game will fall off as much the next 3 years.

No, it's not the price. The money is fine, the guarantees are not.

Sure, the Patriots haven't had a CB like Revis since Ty Law and sure, they are cutthroat when it comes to contracts but giving out large guarantees absolutely kills your financial flexibility.

Never underestimate the ability to move around in the cap and in the draft.
There's 4 elite corners in the game: Sherman, Peterson, Revis, maybe Haden. All of them are geting 35-40+ guaranteed. YES they are on longer contracts, YES they are younger. But when theres only 3 other guys like you, you can tell anyone citing your birth certificate to SUCK IT. I seriously am blown away by how this is the sticking point.

Get it through your heads people, YOU DON'T REPLACE A REVIS. If he goes the secondary takes a nosedive no if ands or buts. And with it the defense takes a nose dive too. Now, the only option would be to drastically upgrade the pass rush to compensate but unfortunately all the big names are signed.

Pay the man. He is irreplaceable if they want to complete while Brady is here. Otherwise it is a return to when a special team player like arrington is your number one CB. We all remember how well that turned out even with the expensive safety McCourty.

You seem to be personally bothered by this, I'm sure you were a hard liner when negotiating your recent contract with Pizza Hut. Have a nice one.

Bull crap we lost out on how many championships from no Ty Law following the same path with Revis.
Kraft and Bill man up here you can't expect him to play and toj cut bait if wanted

That's because you're looking at Revis in isolation and not considering any future effects on the Patriots.

If the Patriots ran the team like that they wouldn't be the winning-est team in the league in the last 15 years.
I'm ok with getting rid of people if they want to much money but 40mil guaranteed is what im hearing and thats not awful we have the cap room.

we say that, but then if this year he suffers career ending injury (which reinjuring bum knee could likely be), then next year we take 20-25m cap hit in dead money. Chances of this are low, but still not negligible.
LLoyds of London

Mccourty might be half the player without revis. IMO dmac is still learning the nuances of playing safety and needs a guy like Revis to help until he is fully there

Everyone needs to take a breath okay? The team has won the SB with Revis, but they've won 3 without him, and they have won 4 with an ENTIRE TEAM of guys whose contracts weren't fully guaranteed $40 million dollars!

If he goes, he goes. It would be stupid to think the team is going to disband just because one guy left. Try to remember the other 52 guys are still there.
