Over what time ? For 2 years it would be crazy. For 3 years it is actually not that much. A lot of context missing in this tweet.

$40M guaranteed over three years is absolutely crazy, IMO. $48M total, fine. But to guarantee almost all of it is a bad idea and if the Jets want to go that way then let em. Sucks if it turns out that way, but I wouldn't be able to blame Revis for taking that deal. That's a godfather offer.

Lets remember that McCourty was likely to be an Eagle and even called BB to thank him for 5 great seasons.

Well, we need to sit back and wait. For all we know, both could be re-signed. I will wait to see how all this plays out until I get upset.

Fair point.

On Sirius NFL radio Tom Curran said 40 million quarantined of a 48 million dollar contract over 3 years.

I completely shot down whoever suggested this yesterday, but seeing as how Schefter has been our mouthpiece of late, I now too wonder if the Pats are leaking the Jets to Revis stuff in light of the tampering charges. Whether its true or not. Maybe that's just me rationalizing things.

True, but I prefer to spill my emotions based on every negative update in order to lessen the blow in the end...

I'm leaving the office now, fuk this agony, I'll only look on the internet 4 hours from now, this forum will collapse.

And I'm saying in advance, thanks Revis, and fuk you.

One can only hope. Or one can hope its a calling Revis's bluff and getting him to come down a bit (if this is the case, hopefully if push comes to shove they give him what he wants).

Even if we lose Revis, BB has backup plans for his backup plans.

I for one, as a secondary option, would certainly not mind seeing something resembling a pass rush on our roster.

I never said it is a trivial amount of money, but it certainly didn't reach the level of 'crazy' for me. It is a lot but in the end you pay for what you get. He should have three elite years in him barring an injury of course.

With the Pats NEEDING to spend a ton of cash this year...well, i just don't get this at all.

Revis isn't the only player available, there are many routes to go.

Edit: for spending, for CB's if we lose out on Revis bolstering the run D and pass rush should be priority #1 because there isn't another #1 CB on the market.

Can't see Belichick guaranteeing that much money.

So now I have to keep two to three threads constantly refreshed just to find out if we signed one guy.

Browner picked up for whatever that means on Revis. Maybe they've decided to pull the trigger and bring all 3 back in Revis, Browner, McCourty. I would expect some news on where Revis will be going shortly.
