Patriots allow Brandon Browner to explore value around the NFL

No word on NFLN - I would think there would be.

I don't see how the Pats could possibly sign him to a contract more favorable than the one he had given all the teams trying to outdo each other for handing out stupid contracts to corners, so I would think it unlikely he returns.

I agree. I have to imagine the Pats are preparing to move on without him. Too bad, I liked what he brought. He stabilized the Super Bowl by moving over to Matthews. No one else in our secondary had the height to match up with him.

Schefter says Revis going to the Jets unless Pats up offer

He helped us get a 4th so I am thankful. Wish him well wherever he goes.

I agree. I liked him a lot. I can see them moving on, but I wish it meant Revis was back, but that seems like it may not be the case per Schefter. I think Browner + what we have would've been enough. But now we're going to need at least 1 new starting CB.

Really hope that we keep one of revis/browner...

can someone explain why the Psts would do this $4.8m?..I'm truly confused.

Seriously. He was already underpaid and in free agency the sharks will be circling to pay him an exorbitant contract.

Wow...this doesn't feel good.

I know that the reasoning to all of these moves will be revealed eventually, but for now...consider me to be absolutely, phucking flummoxed at this point.

maybe it was another hand shake deal Patriots had with Browner..... Maybe the Jets will sign both Revis and Browner.....

Browner and Revis:

Rent a cornerback?

that sucks!

I'm not too upset about this(predicted this might happen last summer). I didn't think that Browner was that great. I think he was severely overrated by fans because he hits very hard. Those players tend to get very overrated.

Not saying that I didn't like what he brought. But I think he's extremely dependant on having a great #1 cb and great FS. But he was a very nice tool to have when opponents had a tall physical receiver. But people saying they rather have Browner than Revis are crazy(yes I've seen people here say that). Revis is so much better that it's not even close. He can cover every type of receiver, Browner is pretty limited to big guys where he is good.
