Rams have cut him loose.

That is a FA I'd like to have.

No thanks.

In order he is now : Injury, Name, Ability.

Far bigger name than what's left on the field.

I'd rather take a high draft choice. The team seems to hit those picks.

I would give him $1 mil a year for 2 yrs to play LG for us.

I never thought he reached his potential in Miami and personally I found his All Pro selection in his rookie year to be insulting to the rest of the tackles out there. I don't blame him for the voting though. I thought he was a good tackle just not great.

I'm not so sure about that. Two years ago the Rams drafted Greg Robinson with their number 2 pick given to them via that redskin trade. He's been riding the pine since but given the amount of $$ the club put into him they'll play him he'll or high water. Hence , Long being released

be a waste of our strengths to pay big dough for o line help. We re great at drafting o line.

I agree. He can also play swing Tackle. Cheap signing for a guy who might still have a couple years. Guard might be the right place. Got to be an upgrade from last years guard mix who played "O.K." down the stretch. But Suh ups the ante. 290 lbs Guards are not going to work even if they are tough guys like Mr. Wendell.

Someone's actually interested in Jake Long?

I think it's a balanced mix of a lot of goodness. The team has hit on good players both in the draft and UFAs, developed them, have a system that creates and promotes a cohesive unit with good communication, great coaching and a great QB that doesn't take dumb sacks , gets the ball out quick and knows how and when to call the right protections.

Jake Long sucks now, too many injuries.

Build a time machine and get Jake Long of three or four years ago, I am on board. But on an one year deal because I know what is coming.

So if he agrees to an incentive laden contract you guys still wouldn't be interested?

Only if the incentives is based on how well his run blocking is and how well he pass blocks. If it's based on playing time, hell no.

If he's not blocking well, he won't get playing time.

He could be a candidate for the veteran FA signing that decides to retire during training camp.

Joe Namath and Bobby Orr just tweeted that Long's knees are shot!

I wouldn't mind it if the Pats signed either one of Howie's boys, but Jake is done.

Can Howie still play he would be a nice fit.....Jake meh not so much.

Nope. Would rather sign a guard who can play (Boling) or go the draft route.

Not quick/agile enough to play guard and not as good as our best 3 tackles
