McCourty to stay with Patriots!

I hope that's incentive driven. No sense paying that much for a safety.

Well a guess isn't worth any more than my speculation.

Given that you speculated they'd lose both McCourty and Revis, while I've been saying that they'll keep both, and McCourty's already back, I'd say my "guess" is worth a hell of a lot more than your speculation.

Just my opinion, though... Others are free to disagree.

9m? i like mccourty but that's earl thomas money.:

Seems like if Devin has signed long-term, on a team-friendly deal, and with a low first-year #, it would prompt Revis to resign. I felt confident in retaining Revis when I was assuming McCourty was leaving, but now that he's staying, what reason is there for Revis to leave, honestly? Defending champs + entire secondary intact longterm vs. what... more money in the green swamp?

Seems like a no-brainer.

$9.5m AAV? Not sure I'd say discount kool-aid.

Well, if it's in fact true that he turned down higher offers to take it...

Report: 'Pretty good bet' Pats bring back McCourty, Revis

There is a "pretty good bet" that the Patriots will be able to keep both cornerback Darrelle Revis and safetyDevin McCourty, according to a report from CSN New England.

This report comes after two days of negotiations from teams and representatives of free agents across the NFL. McCourty totaled 68 tackles and two interceptions a season ago. Revis made 47 tackles and recorded two interceptions.

Need to see the deal terms first. the contract could be backloaded via roster bonuses that allow the patriots to a) get out of paying the full 47.5m and b) keep the cap hit lower in years 1 to 2 or 3.

Wonder what his cap hit will be in 2015 and 2016...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO

That's a lot of money to run around in tights playing a game.....good for him.
