Dolphins and Suh a done deal

So what should they do instead?

Oh I don't know..maybe build a team through the draft and good free agency moves, rather than following the footsteps of about 20 failed franchises (including themselves a few years ago) by foolishly making a deal like this.

Was hoping he would sign out of the AFC East. That's a real good D line now with Suh and Wake.

So miami getting suh is a bad move now?

They would be better of they did nothing..

interesting

At that price? It will cost them depth at other positions which hurts a lot. This is crazy money for non-QBs.

I am thinking of sending a fruit basket to the Raiders for driving the price up.

maybe the fish will cut randy starks.
i would like to pick him up if that happens.

And with that contract, the D line is all that will be good about the Dolphins for years to come.

Starks and Vernon's contracts are up after next year. Wake's the year after that.

They'll get 1-2 years out of that DL before they run out of money to pay the rest

The cap is expected to go up 10 million every year.

God I hope the pats don't let revis slip or they are screwed

will he dh for the marlins too?

So much for tampering being illegal. Even in the "legal" tampering period teams and agents are not supposed to negotiate contracts. They are only supposed to talk in generalities and certainly not guarantees. Besides, this deal was most likely done before the Dolphins starting unloading players left and right to afford Suh.

I still think it is ridiculous to give up that much money for one player (not a QB) even for a guy like Suh. He may be one of the best defensive players in football, but he is no JJ Watt and Suh got almost $20 million more and almost $10 million more in guarantees than Watt.

Pretty sure everyone commenting is implying the cost of the player is the most important factor.

You don't beat Brady if you can't get to him with just a 4 man rush. Suh is a DT who averages more than 7 sacks a season. That's a hell of an asset for a DT in the AFCE, and it makes his value skyrocket.

Throw in the fact if he has another on field incident, he could be facing a big suspension.

What's the over/under on the odds of Suh and Incognito getting into a fight?

With a $6m cap hit, this seems almost a certainty with Suh coming to town. I'm a huge Randy Starks fan, so I hope Belichick is on the phone with him the second he gets released.

You have a chance to beat Brady if you can get to him with a four man rush.

You have no chance to beat the New England Patriots with a shallow, top-heavy roster riddled with major holes.

IDK, I think they let Odrick walk for Suh. I wouldn't mind Odrick. He is a versatile player than Belichick likes. Can play any front and is a three down player. May be too rich for the Pats' blood though.

Nonsense.

Odrick's pretty young and will be looking for more money than the Patriots will offer. I like Randy Starks if he gets cut though.

Probably. Maybe the Pats will spend a decent coin on a DT if they lose McCourty,

But if they are going to spend, maybe go after Pot Roast who grew up a Pats fan in Hartford and may take a bit of a discount to play for his favorite team. But then again, the Raiders are probably going to throw stupid money at him.
