Rookie kid turns into a critical piece for our OL this season. So much so, his knee injury during the Ravens gave causes panic attacks. His return to the SB lineup results in a collective sigh of relief across the entire Patriots nation.

After THE interception, euphoria all around..BUT, there's still 18 seconds on the clock with the ball at the one yard line. Too close for a a kneel down, real danger of a safety or worse! NE takes a time out. Offense packs in for the most important huddle ever. Line up. Brady executes a masterful hard count. Instantly, Stork jerks his head in most convincing fake snap I have ever seen! Bennett bites to encroach, and THAT finally seals the game, the season, the legacy!

In the half second that follows, Brady gently pumps his fist in the realization that now the game is truly ours. Stork on the other hand cannot contain himself and throws a massive celebratory air jab!

Next play, before the brawl breaks out, Stork and Brady's concentration at the snap is unmistakeable. Stork hands over, Brady downs the knee in a nanosecond, while Stork completely smashes the Seattle NT like an enraged pitbull. And then at the final snap, Stork practically teleports the ball to Brady, and then launches himself at the entire Seattle inner Dline.

Tiny, almost overlooked events in the scheme of things. Yet critical to the victory. Such boss execution!

Stork will end up being best NEP decision of 2014 draft. Very Koppen-esque mid/late round victory.

Kids a storckin legend. If they hadn't gone offsides, I wonder if they would have tried a Brady keeper or a screen to Edelman.

This thread could use some GIFs.

With a four point lead.......putting that ball in the air would be rather dumb.......The old line about passing applies here (credited to Woody Hayes and also Darelle Royal) "when you throw, only three things can happen and two of them are bad" (I'll add and one is a disaster).

As for Stork.....what a great draft choice he turned out to be!!

If he jerked his head is that legal or is that a false start?

Funny, I don't recall a lot of love up in here when Stork was drafted. Something about how we wasted a pick on a center we could have gotten in the 6th round and we'd never win a SuperBowl without drafting a cheetah at WR or a "marquee" pass rusher.... :)

I still think Easley will end up being a stud. Stork was a good pick though and with good health should be a long time starter here who may even get on to a couple of pro bowl rosters.

I mocked Stork at least half a dozen of the mock drafts I posted on the draft board last year so I know a decent amount about him. He did not have good workouts and that caused his draft stock to slip, most draft rankings had him as a 6-7th round pick right before the draft took place. Early on he was a 3rd-4th round ranking so where Belichick took him was solid. I think the Bengals would have take him later in the 4th instead of Bordine.

There is nothing sexy about drafting a center so it was not surprising that people weren't overjoyed.

False start.
Not to minimize what he did but he simply put his head down and was prepared to hike the football.

Once Bennett made contact with Connolly, encroachment was the call.

And he risked one inch for five yards in a game in which almost no penalties had been called.

Currently the best draft pick of last year by a mile. Maybe Easley can tie him if he works hard but it'll take a lot :)

The scary part is that he's a rookie: he's only going to get better from here.

Where was the risk? As I understand the rule, the center can move his head, pause for a "moment" then snap the ball.

Not saying a penalty should have been called. Centers do that all the time with no penalty. But for the "False Start" crew, even if a penalty flag were thrown, the penalty would have been next to nothing.

I read this before I really woke up and was answering generically. He just put his head down on the play. Sorry!

Get your memory tested. People knew that the team needed to draft multiple IOL, and many were pissed off that the team waited until the 4th round to do it..

Going a bit OT, as a previous poster said, the penalty for false start would be next to nothing...

Theoretically, would it be possible to try to get the defense to jump offsides an indefinite amount of times, only to take the half the distance penalty for false start or delay every time? If Seattle doesn't jump offsides and sat there for penalty after penalty against the pats, eventually they would be on their heels, making for an easy sneak after about five minutes of Brady barking at the DTs. Basically just tell stork not to snap the ball under any circumstance unless the Seahawks don't fall for it for the 20th time in a row.

Am I missing something here? Is there an eventual loss of downs or anything?
