Wayne is finished. No thanks. Wouldnt mind now getting a wr on the cheap if dobson doesnt pan out. The excuse train for dobson is nearing its end.

Wayne is a smart receiver than can move around the line (play inside or outside). He's a sure handed receiver and will be a Deion Branch type. If he wants to take less money for a chance to win a SB i would take him in a heartbeat

I have no doubt that, given good health, Reggie Wayne would thrive here.... For a year. Maybe 2. At least he's a better WR than Manning is a QB at this point.

Would it be in our best interest to try out another second round wr and have a chance at a four/five+ year player, or a sure thing for a year or 2?

With our success in picking other positions in the draft, bringing in Hartline or Wayne at a reasonable salary would really let us concentrate on OL/DL.

My current preference on WR free agency would be to keep Amendola (if finances allow) - He has experience now in the system and gels with the other guys well. But if we need to move on from him, Wayne would be a better option IMO than Hartline.

I have a lot more faith in Wayne avoiding the Holt/Galloway/Ocho kind of flub. I have a lot more confidence in Wayne's mental game, and work ethic. BB loves the guy as a player. The question is if he's just too toast physically. I don't know the answer to that and would be curious what others think about it.

Wish we had him a couple years ago. It's too bad he stuck around in Indy.

I hope not. Wayne would've been a good target when he was a FA a few years ago, but physically I just don't think he has anything left. As much as I like the guy, if he couldn't produce in Indy's offense last year I don't know why he would here.

Not even a question of price, IMO. Even at vet minimum, I'd still assume he was a TC cut waiting to happen and look for them to sign someone else. Better to put whatever money he could get toward a Hartline contract if WR is a priority.

If the price is right I would say go for it. Wouldn't hurt to bring him into training camp

The only WRs over 30 that had more than 40 catches in a season were Troy Brown, Moss, Branch, Welker and Lloyd.

Everyone else has been a bit player or a fail.

Three years ago yes, now no.

Reggie Wayne is old and washed up. Just the type of wide receiver Belichick will sign.

Name the other that ended up handcuffing the team.

Also if you disagree so much with what the pats do, why dont you go follow another team? Or more importantly why do you devote so much time to a team you apparently are never happy with?

The real question is, can we turn this is into an Amendola thread? I'm a willing participant if a dance partner emerges.

Yeah, pass. Andrew Luck had to throw all day in the AFCCG and I honestly couldn't even tell you if Wayne played in that game. He's cooked.

Speaking of Wayne reminds me of that old Godfather movie....

Do you want a dead horse or someone younger?

with your response to ludicrous Dislikes, you've morphed into the yang role on this forum

I'm sure I'll still be pissing pretty much everyone at one point or another. ;)

IDK, I think Wayne is pretty much toast at this point.

While I agree, I would consider bring him in for a couple of days to see whether he has anything left. If Amendola is gone, I could certainly see Wayne on the squad for a year if he anything left.

To put it another way, I think that Wayne knows his body and might be able to play another year, with the usual old veteran taking off of most Training Camp reps.
