Not for me. The IGNORE poster feature is a real godsend. Life is too short to wade through people who just want to turn every thread into a fight.

Days like today, I'm tempted. But I feel like I would be missing out on the experience! It would be like going to Walmart and not being able to see the misbehaving kids and the grown adults in their dirty pajamas at 4 in the afternoon. They're kind of annoying, but the place just wouldn't be the same without them, right?

I hope Amendola is retained just so we can have more threads in the future like this. If this is the last non Amendola, Amendola thread, we surely went out with a bang.

Deep threats is probably the most overrated thing in all of football. We have several receivers who knows how to get separation.

I'd say reliable deep threats are the most "over-priced" thing in football. If BB could find one for the right money, I'm sure he'd be all for it. They are rare, so they get paid. If you are lucky enough to have one, the problem then becomes dealing with double teams. So in the end you still need guys underneath that can get separation and YAC it up.

I don't feel like I'm missing anything with the IGNORE button. Sometimes, it's kind of funny because it's obvious that there is some kind of pissing contest going on, but all I get are the real football posts. Once I see someone start with the name calling, I just IGNORE them, too. It's the same small handful of people fighting over the same stupid stuff.

As productive as he was, I think Moss ended up hurting Brady as a QB. The allure of the quick strike got him away from hitting the open guy and taking what the defense gave him. It also gets your QB killed in the pocket waiting for a deep route to develop.

I'm not complaining. That Air Belchick offense was pretty amazing to watch....

I feel like the offense they ran against Seattle would've probably beaten NY in 2007 pretty handily. Their big advantage was their pass rush, and Brady mostly negated Seattle's in the SB. Kind of fun to think about.

From memory, Stephen Neal picked up and injury early in the piece didn't he? That certainly didn't help against the Giants pass rush.

All credit to those bastards. That DL played the game of their lives and unfortunately for us, Manningface Part Deux capitalized with a once in a lifetime play. Such is life.

Further to the point, the Super Bowl showed the importance of a healthy Gronk. Outside of Brady, he's the difference. It really is something special to watch him play.

They finally got over it in the middle of the fourth and started dinking and dunking and made it look quite easy. If they had only realized sooner. Oh well. Got the fourth *****es!

Edit: I am speaking of super bowl 42

Realizing that this isn't going to be the most popular of comments for obvious reasons, but I think we still see too much of that right now with Gronk--or at least did in our SB winning campaign of 2014. Obviously, no one will complain, but it may be something to keep an eye on in the future.

Prior to the season, Brady had an excellent attempts-to-interception ratio when targeting Gronk, but for whatever reason in 2014 this changed a bit and Brady got caught off guard looking for the big man. I believe that we saw prime examples of this in all 3 postseason games, or at least 2/3 of them depending on who you'd "blame."

The ability of the quicker release/timing offense has surely helped since Moss, but it sure would be nice to have a young guy like Dobson help to open up some of the underneath routes and make the occasional big play.

"Yes, I am in this thread and yes, you are directly dissing my work on the field in a personal fashion. I suggest my recent playoff performances, including in the Super Bowl, belie any notion of 'mediocrity.' It's all situational with the Patriots -- has been and always will be. My ability is proven. So is your ignorance. Now, get off my case before I track you down and remove your front teeth with a celebratory headbutt."

Hmm what has been proven? Ignorance would be not being aware that he was the same inconsistent player with the Rams who other than 3-4 good games a year was pedestrian. Amendola is what he is and that is a middle to bottom of the depth chart WR who came into the league as an UDFA and has never accomplished anything more than 689 receiving yards in a season. That is proven!

I think their offense and overall gameplan was excellent in the SB, and that they were really the only ones who stopped themselves from scoring (as Brady points out while mic'd up).

It seemed as though once SEA gained the momentum, which happened in the last :30 secs of the first half and continued over into the 3rd quarter, their defense got fired up and we sputtered. Other than that, I thought our offensive gameplan was quite similar to the last time we played SEA and produced quite nicely on their home field. As we know, that consisted of a dink and dunk type of approach as well.

I was speaking of sb 42. I feel like they wanted to win that game "their way" or with style points. If they started to dink and dunk earlier in the game instead of forcing it down field they would have won. I have flashes of Randy being open numerous times and Brady missing him because he was being horassed. There was also the possession before the half where the ball was stripped when Brady was sitting in the pocket waiting for someone to get open deep. It was probably Moss or Stallworth.

The Patriots offense tried all sorts of things in that game. The problems were pretty simple and basic:

Neal injured on 2nd drive
Hochstein, the team's all purpose OL replacement, was already banged up
All Patriots TEs were injured and/or banged up
Brady was still hobbled by his ankle injury, was a sitting duck in the backfield, and couldn't buy time
Giants defense played the best game it would ever play

When we look back on 2007, we can point to a lot of things in that SB that had to break just right for the Giants, and did. In a weird way, though, we can also say that the Patriots lost the Super Bowl in San Diego, because that's where Brady's ankle got injured.

10 pages for hartline!:D

....wait til we sign marshall!:D

Half the pages are a he said/she said between 3 or 4 posters and have nothing to do with Hartline

"Unbelievable! Now you're reaching back to my time with the Rams. 'Never accomplished anything more than 689 receiving yards in a season,' eh? Answer me this: do you seriously believe we would have reached and won the Super Bowl without my presence and performance? Ignorance also is overlooking the obvious. In your case this appears downright willful."

I hearby officially propose the following Rule for consideration by the Moderators.

In all Threads where the name Amendola is not in the Thread title, no poster shall make more than 2 posts involving the name Amendola.

Every failure to comply will result in one of the following keys being ripped off the transgressors keyboard. In no particular order: A M E N D O L A

Just because the defense played subpar the first 3 quarters doesn't mean the Pats offense did.

I seem to remember them throwing for about 400 yards and 4 TD against them. If that game showed anything its the Pats need to try to upgrade the G positions to help their between the tackles running game.

Yes, the Pats did score 4 TDs against a depleted Ravens secondary and still NE had to put the ball in the air 50 times and throw the kitchen sink at the Ravens defense. That's the point of getting better and tweaking the offense to not be the same as 2014. The threat to the Pats is the Ravens and what are the odds that the Ravens will accrue that many injuries this season? Right now, every team is trying to get better. The Pats wont sit idle under BB and will get better too. Even on offense in the passing game.

To me Hartline reminds me of a David Givens.
