Not really surprised it's a business, Sux! Hopefully he can resign some how. He won a SB as rookie and one now so if it his last hurrah, nice way to bookend his career here.

Very sad to see Vince go, he was the consumate patriot, a true professional on and off the field, plus the strongest player I have ever seen.

We now have a huge run defense hole in the "a" gaps to add to two huge run defense holes in the "b" gaps.

That's one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is that we can now put another pass rusher on the field for the 75% of snaps we are in nickle or dime pass defense packages.

Belichick seems pretty determined to get smaller, faster, and more athletic on the d-line. I don't think that's an accident. I think the hoody has been making a complete change in defensive philosophy as a response to the new NFL realities.

Top Notch Patriot. True New Englander!
:(

Hopefully, once Vince hits the open market, he will give the Pats a chance to match any offer he gets and we can make it work out. He is a great team leader and an all time Great Pat!!!!!!!!

Love Vince. Hope there is some way we can have him back.

Will always love and cheer for the big guy no matter what.

He should call it a career and lose weight like his wife. If I were the Colts I will make him my priority this offseason.
Imo it was either him or Mayo. Now I don't think anybody will dare think about messing with Mayo. Locker room chemistry is vital.

I hope that Wilfork's (perhaps temporary) loss doesn't preclude the FO from insisting that Mayo
restructures (IOW take a big pay cut). Mayo comes nowhere near close to justifying his cap hit.

Saddest day as a Patriot for me in a long, long time. I just hope to some way somehow he ends up back here. Its not the same for me when a Patriot goes off playing elsewhere and comes back and retires here. I want Big Vince to play for New England for his whole career.
You'll get over it. When you have a NT for 11yrs, you had him for his whole career!

I'm so happy he won another superbowl with us. I hope he re signs but if not, I hope when his career is over, they re sign him and he retires a patriot. Maybe they could also sign Bianca to a 1 day contract. Haha. She's as much a pat as Vince.

I hope so, i don't think i could bare to see him sign with........with..........the ravens. nagata is holding out and vw would be a perfect fit for the short term.

Damn sucks but Revis abd DMac are more important to the team at this point, hopefully this means they retain both. Also hope 75 comes back at some point, love the big guy.

ok, come back and see us when the rest of our division is running 50x up the gut on us

Thank you Vince, for everything that you have done on and off the field for the Patriots. And thanks to his wife Bianca too. The Wilforks are a great family!

Beautifully said. Thank you!
Ring of Honor bound for Big VW

It's really sad to him VW go and I will always wear my # 75 jersey with pride. But, this clean break was absolutely the right way to go. I've had a feeling for about 2 weeks now that this was going to happen and it frees up a ton of critical cap space. This had to happen and it was the right move.
Tough to see such a class act move on and I tip my hat to the Wilfork clan.
THANK YOU VINCE!

the right way to go was to add a bunch of personal and team incentives to his deal and then when he hits every single one, when the team hits every one, pull the rug out and give him a big J/K!!?
that's the right way?
