2015 Pro Days

Coates had a lot of body catches at his pro day. Huge red flag.

I agree. I'm not keen on body catchers. I've said before that he smacks of a Stephen Hill type. However, one can't deny his physical and athletic attributes are intriguing.

Any thoughts about Belichick possibly checking out Stephone Anthony today? If they are going with a linebacker in the top two rounds, he would make a lot of sense.

Tony Pauline

I'm told Ameer Abdullah looked terrific in drills and was outstanding catching the ball. Sources say he presented himself as a legitimate downfield pass-catching threat.

Abdullah catches the ball away from his body very well.

Hardison runs a 4.84 at his pro day. Would have been the best 40 of any lineman +300lbs by .15.

So yeh, things are getting real.

Some reports have him running at 4.74, which is Aaron Donald territory, but a second time of 5.00 probably squashes that. His vert was pretty terrible at 22.5, but that might have something to do with his knee.

Thanks. Thought his forty would be good but I'm surprised by that vert. Hopefully we'll get some more numbers.

Randy Gregory had a 6.79 3cone. amongst Des, I believe thats the 2nd fastest ever.

@BDenny29: Marcus Hardison weighs 305 now. Wants to get down to 295. Prefers 3 tech

By the way, I saw 25.5 for Harrison's vert, not 22.5. Still not very good though.

yeh, I have now seen both numbers bumped around. 25 sounds really poor, and its not great, but vert isnt the biggest measuring stick for me. A lot of really solid/great Dline guys have shown really poorly there before, and not just typical NT's.

Fletcher Cox and Muhammed Wilkerson had 26" jumps. On the other hand, Sheldon Richardson had a 32.

hah those were the exact two names i was going to jot down as examples. Two board favourites if I recall

According to NFLcombineresults.com, only five DTs over 300lb have run faster than 4.84 in combine history: Tank Johnson, Mike Martin, Evander Hood, Jay Howard and Luis Castillo.

and, as i said before, I have read multiple different timings between 4.74-4.84.

If its on the lower end, thats a truly spectacular range.

also, I am pretty sure we have all the same bookmarked pages haha

We need to have some guesses on what Hardison will do at his pro day. I'm going with:

4.84 forty
1.69 10 yard
33.5 vert
115 broad
7.31 3cone

Those would be terrific numbers and would get people talking.

How about that for my guess on his forty time! A little wrong on the vert though.

Gil Brandt says 8'11" for Hardison's broad jump. That's better. By the way the Patriots were at the pro day.

tony pauline on Hardison:

"Marcus Hardison, who did not participate at the Combine because of an injury, stood out and was a star at Arizona State's pro day. Hardison measured 6-3 1/4, 305 pounds, then ran his 40s in times of 4.92 and 4.95, though some watches had him in the 4.8s. His 10 split was in the 1.70 range. Hardison's short shuttle timed at 4.68 with a 7.29 three-cone.
Hardison looked terrific in line drills, which was run by the Minnesota Vikings, as scouts commented on his exceptional quick twitch muscles. Coaches in attendance remarked that had he been able to run at the Combine, Hardison would've ranked as one of the top overall performers on the defensive line. Yesterday, Hardison met privately with the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers."

Damn it, you beat me :)

7.29 3-cone is exceptional. Can see why he played so well on the edge at ASU.Some of the top 3cones at 300lb plus include Suh (7.11), Wilkerson (7.31), Cox (7.07), McCoy (7.32) and Odrick (7.22). Pretty good club to be in.

so, for the Wilkerson final measurable comparable

wilkerson-hardison
height 6'5-6'3
weight 315-305
arms: 35- 331/2
hands: 10-103/8
40 4.96- 480ish
10 split: 1.73-1.70
broad: 106-107
bench: 27-27
3 cone:7.31-7.29
shuttle: 4.59-4.68

Thats a pretty nice player to measure up so well to on paper. Wilkerson definitely has the length factor, but its impressive either way.
