Exactly, there are a lot of fans who think he sucks. Its comical.

Its like to ask Ninko for a pay cut. The dude makes 3m and plays every snap.

Btw come back vince please 3m a year.

This sucks and I have a bad feeling that it may get worse.

This really sucks but I've never had a problem with the team releasing a key cog later in his career so long as they can replace him or replicate his production. Vince was a warrior last year and that he came back in that kind of shape after his injury is a modern miracle. Hopefully the team can work something else out where he returns with a lower cap hit but Vince is a proud man and I doubt that happens. Indy should be all over this. The good thing about the situation is that the draft is stocked with some quality DT prospects.

Guys i dont know if you paid attention but he wrote ´´I won a super bowl my rookie year and i won a sb THIS year``, not my last year. I think nobody will give him 5 or 6 m dollars, maybe 3.5m and he retires a Patriot. Please Vince come back.

Vince is one of my favorites and sad to see him go (maybe he will be back if he cannot get a deal he deems worthy elsewhere). From a heart standpoint, this is tough to take. From a business standpoint, it isn't unexpected.

Good luck Vince where ever you end up next year. And thanks for everything you did as a Patriot.

I can see him being a Dolphin next year as that's his roots, they have the space and a need. Next up will be Mayo. Something is going to happen there.

The next thing that should happen is a restructuring of Mayo. If they do that and cut ties with Big Vince, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for not extending Revis and signing McCourty. It's tough, but looking at it from an either/or standpoint (which could change if Vince comes back at a lower cap hit), I would rather have McCourty and Revis back with a big body at DT on a rookie contract. This is a tough cut to swallow because I've always loved Vince. Hopefully there are no hard feelings and the Pats can replace him admirably.

Gutted to see him released, wish him every success in the future.

The Colts have a lot of money and need a run stuffer at DT. Vince will more than likely be going there.

Honestly looking at his contract after the fact of my post its a very team friendly deal.
The fact he is a professional and blur collar all the way I take it back I don't think you can restructure at all it looks like it was masterfully constructed to be team friendly.
I would like to see Cole brought in to give us some teeth to our pass rush at a friendly price.
However I believe we will be outbid.

Why do people keep mentioning Mayo? A big part if his contract is injury guaranteed which won't change until he passes a physical. Nothings happening with him for a while.

Future Patriots Hall of Famer. Great guy and wish him the best of luck in the future.

Not at all unexpected... do not fall in love with the Veteran's.

I hope they bring Vince back.. I really hope he doesn't sign with the Colts, Jets, Bills, Broncos, Phins or Seahawks..

EDIT: If I am reading @Miguel 's page correctly, Vince will only be a 433K hit with the Pats not picking up his option..

Everything hinges on Revis. There will be a domino effect when (and if) he re-signs an
extended contract.

It is not pride IMO, is common sense. He knows that he is not worth 8m. The market will show that he is not worth 8m. And i dont think its Welker´s situation. He is a Patriot for life. He loves NE, BB... But they should stop doing this. Offer him an affordable contract : 2 years 7.5, maybe 8m and thats it.
Asking him every year for a pay cut is very disrespectful.
