And as long as he doesn't go to the Broncos or Colts. Or just about any decent team in the AFC.
Although, you look at what Sproles and Woodhead got for their contracts. And it's really not that bad to consider giving Vereen a similar deal. He can be a game changer minus the $10-12 million WR type of price.
Yea that's right, but man it has a vibe that he is goneNot too sure about that.
This might put it in context, given it took place this afternoon - - he might just be saying thanks for it:

Ian yesterday:
"We did a promotion on Twitter with Verizon during the playoffs and as a result tomorrow afternoon we're going to be doing a Q&A on the social network with Shane Vereen and I'm fielding questions from people for us to ask him tomorrow. I have to get these into his camp by 3:00pm today so that they can prep and be ready, primarily so that he can answer them in a reasonable fashion since the limit is 140 characters.
But if you have a question you'd like to ask (obviously we have to avoid questions about his contract, where he'd prefer to play, etc.) feel free to add yours and I'll try and get in as many as I can
I'll also post the full interview on here tomorrow night for those of you who aren't on Twitter. But it should be fun so make sure to pass along anything you'd like us to ask."
I'm laughing at this thread now!
Look at Question #8.

Yeah, thought it was interesting he ignored that part. These were pre-screened by his people anyway before I did it but I told them it had to be asked. Not the answer itself. It's the second part of the question that he didn't answer.
"...and do you hope to stay?"
Jk, the man's showing some love and ignoring the only business question (technically out of 11) that was asked. Let him field offers. He deserves it.
Edit: BTW, those were some fun, interesting questions. Kudos, Ian.
Yeah - with that context you're right, nothing to be read into.
I forgot all about the interview and only saw one of the Pats people I follow rt that comment.
Are you not following @PatsFans? You would have seen that. That hurts fnordcircleYeah - with that context you're right, nothing to be read into.

No. Stop overreacting.
Yes. I might be over reacting, but take into account that New England dosnt value the running back position like other NFL teams, they have a potential replacement on the roster, and to top it off, he had a hell of a super bowl. It makes for a perfect storm signaling to me that he won't be returning.
I don't see him leaving until someone demonstrates who else can fill the 3rd down, Kevin Faulk type role.
Vereen has great hands and speed, and is exactly who the Pats need out in the flat on 3rd down. I don't see anyone else in the RB stable who has that skill sets just now. Maybe in another year or two, but right now I see him sticking around.
