Life without Revis and McCourty

Lets say revis and mcourty leaves us, won't that give us alot of cap space to use?

Disagree with the homers all you want. God knows they're not right anywhere near 100% of the time, and that's despite being homers for the best team of the last 14 years.

Considering the fact that you are always wrong about everything, it's rather bold to make any blanket statements on anyone.

This thread is a product of a fundamental misunderstanding of what has transpired over the past few years.

A healthy Gronk is the most important component pertaining to the fourth Lombardi. A universally healthy Gronk would have meant a minimum 3 of 4 or a "fourpete."

Let reality sink in and a much more measured approach is at hand.

Also, the latest reports indicate that there has been minimal contact between the DMC camp and BB. If that's true, mgmt. has already assessed value and has contingency plans completed.

Frankly, the level of hysteria has not been this high since early 2010. Astute fans remember that time as the period when BB was to be crucified based on the fact that the Patriots had zero TE's on the roster and patsfans.com could see zero possibility that that would ever be rectified.

All of you who were crying about the chicken little tone of this "stupid, stupid, stupid thread" now have chicken little egg on your face.

I say both players are gone. Neither will want to take less money to stay here.

Is it ok now to talk about what might happen without them, or will that upset all of Belichick's Elves?

That's not egg.

It's the debris splattered from your self inflicted battering with the stupid stick.

What? No we/they don't.

Are you kidding me. The thread was voted down for even daring to mention that Revis/McCourty could hit FA and other teams may pay more for them. I was lambasted non stop for the first three pages of this thread. Called a troll and etc etc.

All I wanted was a discussion on what our options for the secondary were if they both leave. You guys were all such homers you completely blasted away what was a legitimate inquiry and only a few days later is proving to be a very relevant one.

What? No we/they don't.

I've been voted down more times for a handful of messages in this thread than you have in your last 16000+ messages. All for the crime of suggesting we might lose both McCourty and Revis.

Did they go the year 7 under the cap?

I think it is a separate number...... What a team spend each year is different than their cap hit......it takes into consideration the actual money spent....Brady was only 2M though his cap number was much higher

They usually leave a cushion about that size so that is why I was asking

I think his username should be buffoon over biffins
The OP has the scent of a Jet's fan trolling .......... he's a Rex Ryan fan from the UK.

Yeah I must be a Jets fan trolling merely because I suggested that Revis/McCourty will likely hit FA and the Pats could get outbid. Your logic is impenetrable.

I think a handful of people disagree with you/dislike your reasoning that just because both hit FA, which they haven't yet, both will be gone. I personally disagree with the slippery slope assumptions that you're making, but I won't vote you down so that your feelings aren't hurt.

Are there band aids out there in FA if we can't re-sign? Yes. But that's what they'll be in comparison.... band aids. Using your assumption that they're gone, it could affect early rounds of the draft as well as FA.

I honestly don't think both are gone. At least we keep DMac, but we have to approach Revis first... if that makes any sense.

1. No it's not "clear" both will hit free agency.

2. It's not "clear" that if both hit free agency, both are gone.

3. If both leave, BB has already planned for it. What's the plan if both leave?........BB will let you know when the time has come.

4. Gronk is the key.

How exactly low does the IQ need to go to constantly think BB doesn't think this stuff through and already have a plan ready to go?

Also, not sure why someone with 23 posts in 5 years (with 12 in this thread) is so worried about their rep here.

That is an interesting usage trend. Signed up 5 years ago. 23 total posts. 12 in the last day on ONE thread. Nothing wrong with it. Just interesting.

At least they didn't sign up February 1st, 2015 at 10PM

We're 12m over the cap. If we let Revis go, we'll save 20m and be 8 under,

Belichick's Elves called you and the topic stupid but are still here 6 pages later. It's kind of comical.

I, like most Pats fans, don't want to see us lose both Revis and McCourty, but if it happens it will take the edge off knowing that I'll be able to come to this thread and laugh a little.

Well, at least you're looking on the bright side.

Well, at least you're looking on the bright side.

I don't see how hoping and praying that they'll stay, or bowing at the feet of BB after every move, is any better.

Both players are going to get offered big money to leave, and the Pats under BB have shown that they set a price for all players and stick to it, no matter what the level of play of that player. Show me where I'm wrong.
