Bills trade for LeSean McCoy + Matt Cassel

Eagles play 3-4

They play that hybrid under system though that allows the weakside MLB to rove around more.

The Eagles are losing their two outside linebackers in Cole and Graham too, though.

My point of view is, the real winner of this trade are Eagles. They've got young, cheap and very gifted player with "papers" to be one of the best LB in the league. They traded - yes I know Shady, one of the best RBs. But...he's very expensive and with an average season behind him player. In my opinion RB is not a high quality product anymore, I mean they are quite easily replaceable. Eagles will find somebody ( let him get 90% production of Shady, but with a minimum price ). Murray from Dallas is another example that teams are not eager to invest tons of money in RBs. Therefore I think there was a good move to get rid of Shady.

Folks, we have a division rival.

@RapSheet: The #Bills have traded for Matt Cassel, the team announced.

IMO, he's better than any FA qb. He's played above average when he hasn't been let out to dry. McCoy trade makes more sense now as he's a great security/dump off option.

Rex just needs a competent/not sucky offense:

Cassel
McCoy
Watkins
Woods

Cassel didn't look so hot when the Pats played the Vikings last year. At the same time, the Vikes didn't have the offensive weapons like the Bills do, so understandable. Real question at this point is if Cassel has anything left, compared to someone like Hoyer.

Cassel hasn't had a good year since 2010.

I dont understand this one as well. Was there anybody else better out there?

Great, another sign Bills will not bet on a classy QB. It means - Shady and Sammy with no accurate passes can do nothing.

Next year against NE, I hope he plays as well as he did in that MIN game this past year:

19/36, 202 YDS, 1 TD, 4 INT

I also hope Revis is back there to pick him off again!

Well...he's better than EJ Manuel. And that'd be the definition of damning this move with faint praise.

I'm loving this. Got to give Ryan credit he is going to push hard to make the Bills a good team. I really felt like tough competition made the Patriots a much better team this season and having the Bills push them will only make them better next season.

The AFC is so bad I'm not sure who would win head to head right now between the Colts/Bills and Broncos/Bills.

I agree with Ivan. It's entertaining and could help us. a real division foe.

You are joking right? Pettine ( who was the Bills dc in 2013) and Ryan run a very similar defense, which is more of a hybrid than strictly a 3-4. So I don't see where you get that there will "serious growing pains" for the Bills defense.

who was the DC last year?
who will be their NT?
who will be their OLB's?
Mario Williams signed a contract that got him away from the 3-4....they're going to pay him that much money to be a 3-4 DE?

what they played in 2013 is nothing like what Rex Ryan has ever deployed......

guess you must be the one joking

There are better options in my opinion, I would trade for Glennon, Tampa has the #1 pick and will draft Jameis Winston.
