Bills trade for LeSean McCoy + Matt Cassel

Eagles biggest threat to take Revis and or Mccourty.
Great to have Kiko out of the division!
They can have David Harris

Good, this will end up hurting the Bills. McCoy was great in 2013 behind the best o-line in the league, but last year he just wasn't very good. He didn't look significantly better than Darren Sproles at any point throughout the season, and he won't come anywhere near justifying his base salaries in 2015, 2016, or 2017.

I fully expect that the Bills will cut him after one season when they realize that he isn't an Adrian Peterson-caliber RB (which you have to be to justify the cap hits his contract has). They're giving up a very good, young, cost-controlled asset in Kiko Alonso for a RB who is both expensive and overrated.

And this isn't just me ****ting on a division rival's moves. I was in favor of the Decker signing and the Harvin trade for the Jets, and I thought Tannehill's extension was great for the Dolphins.

The iggles could go after vereen as well. This move makes no sense for the bills. You had spiller there as well.

I think as long as the Bills quarterback is named Manuel, they aren't going to take the AFC East from us.
I think as long as our QB is Brady no one taking the division away from us :D

Hoyer was like the worst QB in football his last 5 starts
Funny, I remember we were all rooting for him at first; now that he might go to the enemy he's worse than the guy who replaced him.

No one's saying it would be signing Peyton Manning; but if they have a QB who is competent (mediocre), they'd be OK.

Division wins are precious, but often quite difficult. I think NE is clearly the class of the AFCE, but the Bills will be a very tough out.

Sounds like we have declared an off-season champion!

It think we should wait 'til they actually play some games to judge whether perennial crap teams have improved or not. Crap teams have a way of staying crappy no matter what they do. I hardly see trading for a "marquee" running back as a sure fire recipe for success in a passing league.

I didn't think of that. He'd be a good fit for Kelly's system, might be complementary to Sproles.

?????

What are you talking about? This move makes all the sense in the world for the Bills.

No way. Lets see who has the bigger impact between kiko or lesean who has had a bigger workload.

Why is there anything wrong with stating the obvious, that the Bills are going to be the Patriots toughest division opponent this year? No one's saying they're going to win five Super Bowls in four years. They could go 8-8 and still be a brutal opponent, with a coach who plays BB well, and a team well-equipped to his schemes (the tough D and the flinestone O).

Chip Kelly is....

....going to be out of this league in two years. Some college team will offer him a huge deal and he'll be gone. I don't trust college coaches like him.

What do you guys think of him? I mean, he still thinks he can run his teams like he did in college.

Your claim was that the trade didn't make sense for the Bills. That was a ludicrous statement on your part. What Alonzo does for the Eagles is irrelevant to my post.

I think he would be perfect for Rexy and the Bills!! ;) lol

Completely disagree. He has adapted to the league where he's had to and his offense works; he won over the locker room in Philly pretty quickly his first year, which wasn't easy since a lot of players loved Reid and didn't want him to get fired. The moves he makes that people have hated (getting rid of DeSean; now, inevitably, trading Shady) are the same kind of moves that evoke "In Bill We Trust" around here. He's got a plan; or at the very least, he isn't Spurrier/Saban redux.

The ?? for him, and what I think will determine how successful he'll be, is his talent evaluation. So far it's a big unknown because we don't know how much of the drafts were Howie Roseman, and how much was Kelly. Now that it's Kelly's show 100%, I guess we'll see.

Just posted this in another thread, but it's a better fit here...

Look at what Rex already has in place...

Quality defense
Multiple running backs
Cap space
Functional TE (Chandler)
Legit deep threat for P.A. passing game (Watkins)
Legit second receiver (Woods)

If he gets a QB, that Buffalo team's going to be a real pain in the ass.

He's still an entire offensive line away from being able to replicate the 2009-10 Jets offenses. The Jets had one of the 2 or 3 best run-blocking OLs in the league over those years, which is why they were able to survive having a terrible QB.

You won't win games with a bad QB and an OL that can't run block, and LeSean McCoy isn't going to change that.

top RBs are overrated. Give me Kiko Alonzo any day over McCoy.
