2015 NFL Veteran Cuts Thread

I thnk Danny is a nice guy and would cooperate.

Based on what? Being a nice guy and getting your pay reduced by millions have nothing to do with one another. If DA thinks the market for his services is more than the Pat's offer he will asked to be cut.

As stated before I dont think Johnson would have a problem with low $$$ the cost of being apart of a proven winner. Knowing how complicated our Offense is I can see BB taking such a route as regards to WR. Anrdre Johnson and LaFell on the outsides with Edelman Gronk inside the numbers would be pretty difficult to stop.

Jules, Gronk and LaFell were #1, #2 and #3 in targets last year. All had over 100. Vereen had 77 and DA had 42. In this offense, where they ran 1048 plays and threw the ball 58% of the time, how many targets do you think will Johnson get here if DA and Vereen stay?

Johnson had 146 targets last year and is scheduled to make north of $11m in 2015. He still sees himself as #1 or #2 WR. He is not a guy looking to take the vet minimum to win a ring. I can promise you that the Pats will not pay him $6m to be a 4th option if they are not willing to pay DA that.

Re-negotiation with dola and sign lance moore and id set we re looking real good at wide out. Hopefully one of the youngsters beats our moore but if not he should be a solid target.
I liked Moore two years ago too, the guy has dead legs. He just isnt the same player he was several years ago. He'd be nothing more than a training camp body at this point.

I dont think Johnson, Harvin, or Marshall are going to be PAts next year

The latter two definitely not. Johnson is pretty unlikely but there is an outside chance I think. Depends on what he really wants.

I will sign Cary Williams and then cut him for being a hypocrite.

Well there are personal life factors that could play into his decision. Such as his GF is the co-host of Tom Curran's show during the season. He also has relatives that live near Foxboro.

That sucks. That Saints offense in his day was fun to watch. Really only one great receiver in Colston (before Graham became a beast) and a **** ton of good ones. Never seen a team with more depth at wide out.

I am focused on Revis and he is #1 but you should be able to find 4M somewhere. Signing a 4M contract should not stop you from getting Revis. I doubt he will be had for that amount though.

I agree that 3-4 million $ deals don't really impact the Revis or McCourty deals but they are running out of time on both so I would forego any deals for free agents right now and focus on the most important business, which is clearing cap space and re signing Revis and McCourty.

Didn't know he was with Kay Adams. I see your point. ;)

I recall reading that he had relatives in Maine as well.

johnson wouldn't be the 4th option, he's better than lafell imo.

Yeah, lots of people are nice guys - doesn't mean they want you taking their money out of their pockets.

I'd rather have Stevie Johnson than Andre Johnson at this point, assuming the former comes at a lower price point.

Yea it's a tough call. Because he is younger, Stevie has more left in the tank but Andre has zero risk of being a locker room issue.

I will say this, if Andre Johnson has the same year Reggie Wayne did at 34 years old then I'd rather have Andre.

Players like johnson are still trying to cash in but they should be real with themselves and know their own bodies. I would take 3 to 4 million dollars to play with brady and have one last shot at a ring.

Many late career veterans value one last big paycheck over playing for a ring... and who can blame them?

You cant but johnson has made plenty of money in his career. He is not worth what he thinks he deserves. Its that big ego with greats.

Looks like trent cole could be released by the eagles.

Also, the Tyvon Branch and Bernard Pollard cuts were made official today.
