Why have we heard nothing about Wilfork?

I agree that taking a chance with KA might be worth it even though I think you are underating him as a player. It seems we may have some guys there that can fill in adequately and save money. Worth a risk.

DA is another story. I dont see the depth behind him and a vet singing, unless a really big solid contributor, isnt going to absolutely be better also considering his salary would have to be added on to the DA dead money. Plus the chemistry with TB is a factor itself. DA has it ? may not and we have seen it happen several times.

RS DA and sign some low risk guys and hope Dobson wakes up. If DA does RS we are in good shape. If he wont, release him.
Danny Amendola had 27 catches for 200 yards; I think we could have our practice squad receivers draw straws to decide who replaces that.

I know you love Amendola but come on, put him on the market he would be lucky to get a 2 year deal for $4.5M why would we give him that just in new money for 2015.

Something to keep in mind - posters talk a lot about the age of Wilfork him being 33 years old, but Wilfork was an elite talent, with physical ability that made him a first round draft pick and he dominated the NFL for over a decade at his position. So from the level of dominance how far does he drop off due to age?

Then you look at an Amendola or Arrington who were both marginal talents and UDFA, have never done anything more than be average NFL players and they are 29 years old, so as they drop off at their age where are they standing as players? You see nobody considers the age drop off of them, just Wilfork, but as they enter their 30s the differential between them being in the NFL and not is much smaller than an elite player like Wilfork.

When considering a drop off you should always consider the starting point of a player.
Because Wilforks last two seasons hasn't been very good. That's why the difference in age discussion is so big. Sure, a lot is probably because of the injury. But because of his age many doubt that he will get better again. I don't think that he will, and his level of play last year didn't warant close to what he was payed.

Well that number is a bit missleading when Revis has a gigantic $20m contract that no one realisticly sees him getting.

I think Arrington is very valuable to the team. He's a very good corner against fast and quick receivers. I think a guy that can almost shut down guys in the mold of TY Hilton absolutely is worth $3M.
Was that Arrington or was that the game plan against Hilton? Ask yourself this question how many times has Belichick shutdown the opposing team’s best player with a mediocre player over the past 14 years?

That is really great but I have two words for ya. We Friggen Welker. I dont give a **** about stats, from a player recovering from an injury. The guy battled, made plays, contributed, was a great practice and locker room guy and not only won us games but made the clutch plays when it counted to help get us HFA, get us by Baltimore and win us the phucking SB.

That is why I love him and everyone should. When are you going to get that? All that matters is what he is worth to us given all the variables. If we get him to rs we are in good shape moneywise with him

Why do you care so much about this guy? Did he blow you off for an autograph?

Were you watching the same Amendola and Arrington I was the last 2 seasons? Same theory applies to them. You are stuck on a number (age) but real factor is talent level. If you ask me Wilfork is still far more talented at his position at his age than Amendola or Arrington are at their position(s) at their age(s).

It's not just Hilton - Arrington has reliably shutdown slot guys for several years now. He's mediocre on the outside where his size becomes a disadvantage. But he is one of the league's best covering the slot, and to date, has certainly earned his keep on a contract I felt too rich at the time.

Ahhhh I see, so Arrington cant get credit because it was a team plan.

Yeah, OK

Oh come on. Now you are just trolling.

Talk about stuck on a number. Get out of the past and stop it with the stats crap.

You must be the biggest Wes Welker fan in the world.

Vince would get a dose of reality in the open market. He needs to restructure or just cut him outright. This has always happened with veteran pats before.

First I would not ask Amendola for an autograph. Second I do not care about him at all. I just think Wilfork is much better and more important than him, and I think it is a ****ing joke that you are sitting here suggesting we pay Amendola what he is owed, you are in the 1% at best.

Causation vs. correlation, do you really believe that Amendola was the cause of the plays in the playoffs or did his performance simply correlate with the situations? I think a trained monkey could have caught the Edelman 51 yard pass, so what do you have left 78 receiving yards in 3 games, that is $4.5M in your opinion, I mean live in reality.

It has nothing to do with stats, go back and watch the games. Oh I am trolling, you just make it so easy, how can I not, you come along, I put down Amendola and you go into a tizzy, so easy, and amusing.

Enjoy..:D

Really? Really? Where the phuck did I say that. Are you serious? I made one comment about a month ago that if God came down and guaranteed that DA would play like he did in the ravens/hawks/jets game that he THEN might have been worth the full contract.

Other than that I have been clear. Cut or RS. Just like everyone else except those with clear agendas against the guy.

Dont you phucking strawman me you strawman creating mofo

Let me ask you a question, would you give Malcolm Butler $4.5M for next season?

Actually, it was KA but since you cant read I am not surprised you think that.

Wilfork is important but not at his price range. Our run defense was middle of the pack. We need to get younger and athletic there.

Do you play slot WR and slot CB when you play Madden?
Do you think about ripping on DA and KA when you play with yourself?

Wilfork played last season on an incentive based contract and earned every incentive, that is the epitome of earning your pay. He also managed to be on the field over 75% of the defensive snaps despite the fact that they spent the majority of their time in sub packages, which means he was also the most versatile DT on their roster. I can understand people wanting Wilfork to restructure to help the team but anyone claiming he didn't have a good season is just making things up and didn't actually pay attention to his play. It's a popular meme but it isn't true.
